Hockey Trade Rumors

I know a lot of hockey fans have had enough of Leaf rumors and trade suggestions. This is niether but is a delicate topic none the less.

Would Toronto Maple Leaf Fans be bitter towards Mats Sundin if he doesn’t waive his No-Trade Claus in the following days?

So there are plenty of rumors of where Sundin might end up either Anaheim, Detroit, Ottawa, Vancouver…any team with a legitimate shot at making a run would love Sundin in their roster.

First things first….He has to waive his No-Trade Claus!

Sundin has said that he and Cliff Fletcher haven’t seriously discussed any possible deals but realistically Fletcher would offer him something by Thursday or Friday to give Sundin the opportunity to think about it. Cliff Fletcher has enough respect not to put a gun to Sundin’s head(not literally of course)and make him decide on the 26th an hour before the deadline.

Sundin has also said he would not want to leave Toronto because his home, family and his heart are in Toronto but 99% of hockey players play for one soul reason which is to win the Stanley Cup, So my prediction is he will be moved.

At very least Sundin would fetch:

1rst round pick in 2008
Young, Productive Roster player
Prospect Player

Fetching at least something valuable in return would give Toronto a building block and head them in the right direction for the future. There is no question that Sundin is there most valuable asset right now so my question is this:

Leaf fans,

Knowing that Sundin being traded would be for the good of the franchise, would you be bitter knowing Sundin will not waive his No-Trade Claus just so he can stay comfortably in Toronto knowing that he will re-sign there July 1rst?

How does anybody know that Sundin will even return to Toronto anyway(If hes traded)?
