Sundin has 2 places left on his list.

Sundin is narrowing down his choices on where he will go if he comes back. Sources have 2 Big named teams knocked out of the running. So who’s left? Well not that hard to tell when you look at the facts.

NARROWING DOWN WHERE SUNDIN WILL LAND.
Well Sources say Money is NOT going to be the deciding factor where Sundin goes. In fact, TSN reporters say he has plenty of money in the bank and in Sweden. The next place he goes is where he can win and be happy.

With Money not being a factor in where he goes, you can rest assure he is not going to Vancouver. So stop listening to people and reports saying he could end up there. He will never go to Vancouver, 2 reasons. 1. If he wanted that money he would have taken it by now, and 2. he will not win there unless he stays 3 or 4 years, just to get a shot at winning a cup. And him stying 3 or 4 years isn’t happening.

So NO VANCOUVER.

Next… Montreal… According to TheFourthPeriod.com Mats Dahlberg, a Canuck European scout from 1985-94 now working for Swedish radio, told the Province he expects Sundin to play, and that “His heart says Toronto,” said Dahlberg. “Montreal is too close to Toronto.”

This doesn’t say a tone but it does make some sense. Winning in Montreal would have to hurt since he couldn’t get it done for all those years right down the block in Toronto. Not to mention Montreal and Toronto are 2 different worlds if you have ever been or live in Canada. French Canadians and Canadians are different people. I can tell you now, Montreal isn’t going to happen for Sundin. He may get a chance to win, but he’s not going to end up there.

Toronto is where his heart is, but can he win there? with the way the team is rebuilding it doesn’t seem like it just yet. But going back home to play and finish your career is always, I believe, every players first option.

Then comes the Rangers with best friends Naslund, and Lundquist not to mention a few other Swedish players. Going to the big city which definitely has a chance to win with supporting centers Gomez and Drury behind him is not a bad idea. BUT Money, thats where the problem comes in, the rangers have maybe MAYBBBE one million left. What they do have is a chance, but not a great one. Prucha being traded or being sent down free’s up about 2 million in cap space, but is that enough money? It could be. Remember Selanne taking 1 million to win a Cup a few years ago? If it’s not about the money which many people and even Sundin says it is not about…. Rangers become a BIG BIG player in landing Sundin.

My guess is, Toronto or another team that comes out of no place and signs him. But watch the Rangers.. they are definitely the sleeper for Sundin.
