Thrashers say they won't trade Kovalchuk
Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Thrashers “say that they will not trade Kovalchuk.” It is noted that the Thrashers have not had any plans to trade their Russian Superstar and that all talk of a possible deal has only been a bad rumor.
HTR can not overlook the fact the Kovalchuk is set to become unrestricted at the end of next season and that the Thrashers have let so many talented players such as Hossa and Savard walk away without finding replacements. The Thrashers are in a tough situation with Kovalchuk. They can either deal him for an array of prospects and a picks or they can loose him for nothing next year as it is highly unlikely that he will want to remain in Atlanta.
