What the leafs gonna do in the summer?

The leafs havent 1 atleast 1 cup in 30 years how horrible is that well during the offseason they better be working. The leafs have much problems like maybe goaltending and even defence. In the future we will have excellent goaltending becuase were gonna have Pogge, Rask, and Racine in our hands. The leafs should do better.

The leafs need to work on “D”, so they should sign sum “D” at the tradedeadline or at the offseason.

They have to re-sign mccabe and kaberle.

Now in the offseason the leafs should re-sign:

McCabe

Kaberle

O’Neill

Allison

Tucker

Lindros

Czerkawski

Moro

Harrison

Leeb

Pohl

Colaicovo

Stajan

Wellwood

Tellqvist

White

Bell

Free agent signings:

Gaborik

Roloson or Aebisher

Leopold

Waive or trade:

Sundin free agent

Sign Redden

waive: Berg, Belak

Retire: Domi

Trade: Wilm and Klee for draft picks.

Trade: Belfour for Gomez and draft pick.

voila there u go a good and succeful hockey team:

Now the lines:

Gomez Lindros-“A” Gaborik

O’Neill Allison Tucker

Czerkawski Steen Ponikarovsky

Stajan Wellwood Kilger

extra: Battaglia and Pohl

McCabe-“C” Kaberle-“A”

Redden Leopold

Colaicovo Harrison

Roloson or Aebischer

Tellqvist

extra: Racine

-And another thing sign Some players for less money, but give them more ice time, so they’ll be equal.

KK, voila there u have it my lines at it should make the leafs win atlest 1 cup in 30 -35 years.

I don’t want Gaborik, Redden will always be a Sen to me, I’d rather Nabokov, Fernandez, or CuJo to Aebischer or Roloson, I’d keep Sundin, and well I’d hope Domi doesn’t retire. I’d also keep Wilm, great penalty killer.

Oh, and with Brodeur signed long term, the Devils won’t want Belfour, and certainly won’t give Gomez for him.

How do the mods actually let this through? We dont even know who’s really on the block yet. Wishful thinking at best.

What are you smoking?! You can’t force a player to retire, like mangement is gonna tell Domi to retire!

Second, Mats Sundin has an option for 07-08, he is

gonna retire in Toronto. Third what idiot team would give up a draft pick for two struggling veterans. We’d probably only get a 8th, 7th if we’re

lucky, round pick for both of those guys! Belfour isn’t worht Scott Gomez and a pick! Scott Gomez is worth Belfour and a 1st round pick! What is New Jersey gonna do with two starting goalie?

    U PLAGERIZED FROM MY ARTICLE!

    i know what the ***** r u talking about

    belfour and brodeur together lol…..stupid

sundin aint even a free agent

also they havnt won in 39 years not 30

finally why would they resign czerkawski…..the obvousley dont want him now????

  10. whitee_boi says:

You are an IDIOT…Number 1 if anything Belfour will retire. He’s a free agent if im not mistaken and what the hell would New Jersey want with a washed up goalie? And what makes you think they’d trade one of, if not their best forward away for him to be a backup for a year. 2nd of all what the hell is up with your goalies? Aebischer is barely good enough to be a goalie on a team with a solid defence and proven scorers that can fill the net. Now imagine him in Toronto getting 30+ shots a game and only 3 goals for. Roloson on the other hand is getting on in age. Why in the world would u trade Sundin? Has he all of a sudden lost his touch and leadership in the new NHL? Just because he’s not leading the team in points doesnt mean you trade away your best player. I really don;t see the Maple Leafs adapting to the Joe Thornton idea and just trading away your Captain and best player, possibly in history just for the sake of it. You trade to get better ni the offseason, not to get worse. My final point is do you not know that there is a salray cap now? 3 million alone will carry over from Allison, plus you have him commnig back so he wont sign for peanuts. Gomez, Gaborik, Allsion, McCab, Kaberle, Redden and your goalie alone would be over your cap limit, nevermind all your fill in players.

  11. 92-93 says:

    totally off topic here:

but could you imagine if the Nolan trade didn’t take place?? i know hindsight is 20/20 but toronto lost out big time on this one. Toronto would have McCauley, Boyes, and they would have had their first round pick from 2003 which turned out to be Mark Stuart – one of the top defensive prospects in the Boston organization (he was also chosen ahead of such names as Pouliot, Mike Richards, Patrick Eves, Corey Perry (!!!), Anthony Stewart and Jeff Tambellini).

    Steen__________Sundin_________Stajan

    Poni___________Allison__________Antropov

    Tucker__________Boyes_________Wellwood

    Kilger___________McCauley______Domi

That means: no Lindros, no O’Neill, etc. not to mention some of the younger players listed above that could be playing with the Leafs right now.

    ouch.

but on the other hand, many of these kinds of moves to bring in older guys and trading away young guys DID work out and helped toronto be a 1st place team for a number of years.

  12. HeardHere1st says:

You are dillusional. Let me show you why…

    (1) You think they can get Gomez and a Draft pick for Belfour??? Belfour probably makes more $$ than NJ starter Brodeur. Try to think of it this way. Would any sane hockey minded GM of NJ make that trade?? OF COURSE NOT! and Not Lou!

    (2) You think the Leafs would be able to sign a significant starting goalie (Aebischer or Roloson), All Star Defenseman (Redden), US Olympic Defenseman (Leopold), Team Pts Leader (Gaborik) ??? ALL IN THE SAME SUMMER??? You have been playing X-Box too much

    (3) What sane hockey mind would let your perennial best player and long time team captain (Sundin) walk away, the city’s (and owner’s) favourite player (Domi) retire after signing him to a 2 year deal …Oh ya, then another Miracle trade to get rid of two of your top 6 defenseman.

There is no sense to your suggestion, I would bet the Leafs do NONE of what you suggest …which is why you are not an NHL GM.
