  1. hattrick44 says:

Im pretty sure either Phillips or Priessing will return to Ottawa both might stay. And Edmonton will likely sign Smyth, i just dont see him wearing a different sweater. Buffalo will not let bouth dury and Briere go and nittiimaki will stay i philly. Sakic is going no where. tucker will probally stay. Dallas wil keep Morrow becasue he wont leave and i think Shanny likes it in the big apple and i think the rangers enjoy having him there

  2. egreenxc says:

Knuble just resigned for 2 years with the flyers.  I'm pretty sure he's going to go anywhere.

  3. PhanufRoxs says:

sorry, I forgot that Knuble just signed. and i'm not saying Drury and Briere won't stay and even both of them might stay

  4. papichulo71 says:

Morrow signed a 5-year contract in the pre-season.

  5. PhanufRoxs says:

I got the list from a different source's and I just copied, and pasted it, so I didn't mean to put like Knuble, and Morrow on.

  6. Gagne1286 says:

Antero Niittymaki will only be 27 in 2007, not 30 like stated above.

  7. ottawa_leaf says:

    As a leaf fan these are my predictions(HOPES) that regard the leafs;

    1. O'Neil will walk.
    2. Peca will walk.
    3. Trade Kubina for basically nothing and sign Souray
    4. Sign Tucker to a multi-year deal.
    5. Try and sign Jason Blake and/or Sami Kapanen.
    6. Sign a natural goal scorer to play along side Sundin, most likely a left winger. Ladislav Nagy (probablly way too expensive) or Freddy Modin (BRING HIM BACK TO the T-DOT)

  8. peataters says:

ottawa will sign a second line centre not sure who though
pitts will go after 1 d and 1 or more forwards
edmonton will resign both smytie and sykora. sykora doesn't want to leave and captain canada won't go anywhere else

  9. SkruinBruin says:

I hope Brad Stuart (B's) doesn't go anywhere,,, but he has been mentioned in trade rumors (before the B's started clicking) or Marco Sturm… if not this year- one or two more years and the B's will be in a prime position to pose a threat, and both of those guys are key in where they are today.

  10. PaulK123 says:

I am a Leafs fan and here are some moves I hope they make:
1.Either trade O'Neill at the deadline or let him go
    2.Re-Sign Peca to a multi-year deal
    3.Re-sign Tucker to a multi-year deal
3.Let go of Belak (it was coming)
    4.Let go of Sundin
5.Sign Daniel Briere to fill Sundin's Shoes
6.Sign Robert Eshe as Raycroft's back-up and give Raycroft pressure to play better or he will lose #1 job.
    7. Let Antropov Walk
    8. Let Aubin Walk

Here is how much room the Leafs will have if they make the moves to let go players:
    Jeff O'Neill:$43,475,920-$1,500,000 (o'neill's salary)=$41,975,920
    Wade Belak:$41,975,920-$675,000 (belak's salary)=$41,300,920
    Mats Sundin:$41,300,920-$6,800,000 (sundin's salary)=$34,500,920
    Tucker's Contract Expires:$34,500,920-$1,596,000 (tucker's salary)=
    $32,904,920
    Peca's Contract Expires:$32,904,920-$2,500,000 (peca's salary)=
    $30,404,920
    Nik Antropov:$30,404,920-$1,007,000 (antropov's salary)=$29,397,920
    J.S Aubin:$29,397,920-$525,000 (aubin's salary)=$28,872,920

So if that happens they will have $28,872,920 to do everything in the summer! Here are the moves:
    Tucker's New Contract:$20,000,000/4 years=$5,000,000+$28,972,920=
    $33,872,920
    Peca's New Contract:$6,000,000/2 years=$3,000,000+$33,872,920=
    $36,872,920
    Daniel Briere:$24,000,000/4 years=$6,000,000+$36,872,920=
    $42,872,920
    Robert Esche:$750,000/1 year=$750,000+$42,972,920=
    $43,622,920

So here is the new leafs line-up:

    Tucker___Briere___Ponikarovsky
    Steen___Peca___Stajan
    Kilger__Wellwood__Suglobov
    Ondrus__Pohl__Westrum
    Extras:Nash, Williams

    McCabe___Kaberle
    Kubina___Coliacovo
    White__Gill
    Extras:Kronwall, Bell

    ___Raycroft___
    ___Esche___
    Extra:Racine

This is a much faster Leafs team that has the ability to generate more offense, not this is ALL SPECULATION!

  11. senators101 says:

I'm surprised Sundin is not on that list.  He's getting old and deserves a cup.  If the Leafs don't make a deal for a bonafide winger to play with him, I see him leaving to go to a contender.

  12. peataters says:

sudin is your franchise buffalo will let go of dury keep bereie you need wingers!
man leaf fans say th dumbest things about themselves

  13. Pony says:

Sign Souray? Yeah the Leafs definately need another big shot whose worse at D than McCabe.

  14. gg_idiot says:

Signing Tucker for 5 million. That is actually realistic cause JFJ is a dumbass.

  15. gg_idiot says:

Well, my wish list from this is definatly Smyth, Nagy, Briere, Datsyuk, Modin, and Tucker

  16. bleed_senators_and_oilers says:

    idiot

  17. islesfan4lyfe says:

As far as the Isles go, Poti will stay and hopefully so will Blake. Buccigross on ESPN suggests trading him but I hope we keep him.

  18. flyersfan10897 says:

which i believe means at this point he will only be a restricted free agent, right? the age isnt down to 27 already is it?

  19. PaulK123 says:

wow these are all realistic moves, im not going out and sayig to sign giguere, briere, and sackic!

  20. woodsco85 says:

Dude, your giving the rest of us  Leaf fans bad names, common dude. Really 3 million a year for Peca? Hes completely on a defesive role, and while I love the guy, he deserves no more than 2 million, and thats pushing it

  21. Connolly4mvp says:

If you had to make a choice witch one would you keep?

  22. Pony says:

Is that a serious question? Without a doubt Briere.

  23. NHLman says:

Shanahan will not return to the Rangers considering the amount of younger talent on the market, he will likely retire or go elsewhere. Straka will likely retire, he was considering it this offseason. Nylander will probably be gone too. The Rangers will target these players: at center- Briere, Datsyuk, and Drury, with  Forsberg, Lang, and Nylander as backup plans, at the wings- Nagy, Smyth, Zubrus, Doan, and Sturm, with Kariya, Kozlov, and Kapanen as backup plans, at D-Hannan, Souray, and Brewer, with Phillips, Preissing, and Brewer as backup plans. Likely they will not go hard after dmen considering Marc Staal is expected to arrive next season and they have a surplus as is.

  24. PhanufRoxs says:

I hope The Nuck's dump Nazzy and go after Sakic. I would love to see Burnaby Joe in aa Canucks uniform. Even though Vancouver isn't a contender I think they could be if they trade there bad player who still have value (cough, cough Ohlund, Chouinard, Cooke, Morrison).

  25. leafmeister says:

The Leafs need to free up cap room and attemt to sign karyia he would be perfect for sundin with his playmaking and sniping

  26. otherPerry says:

lol who are you kidding? sakic is the equivalent of yzerman, except he's even better. he will finish his career with the Avs and will play for another 3-4 years…that will be his final contract as a player, then he'll move into management.

  27. Senatorsfan78 says:

Hey everyone I think the Ottawa Senators will re-sign Chris Phillips and they will sign Ryan Smyth and sign Aron Miller and Eric Brewer and trade for Gary Roberts at the trade deadline.

  28. wingedim says:

Signing Tucker for that length for that kind of money doesn't make sense in my mind. Sign him for $10 over 3 years that way you aren't stuck with him if he's hurt later in the contract which is a strong possibility with his style of play.
Peca is good, but not good for $3M I agree at 2 tops.
Forget Esche. He's done, if you want to get a back up then look elsewhere, or let Racine be back up or bring up Pogge if he's ready.
