Hockey Trade Rumors

TSN.ca is reporting that the Florida Panthers have

had a change of heart and have backed out of the

talks with Ed Belfour and put their fate in untested

goaltender Alex Auld.

The Panthers brought Eddie in to Florida yesterday

to do some medical testing an were expected to

offer him a contract.

The Panthers originally ofered Belfour a one-year

contract, but he ignored it to prove hewas still healthy for Detroit.

When the deal with Detroit fell through, Belfour crawled back to the Panthers, leading to his physical

with Florida and possible contract.

Sources tell TSN that the deal is dead, leaving Belfour without a home for the 2005/06 season,

for now…
