A cornerstone that won’t interrupt their tanking, of course a smart GM wants him.

Funny Arizona is looking for a scoring winger.

According to Bob Mckenzie the asking price for Franson is a 1st and a prospect. Things could get interesting over the next few weeks.

I like what Kypreos said last night on prime time sports. He said if Santorelli, Franson and Winnik are not traded by the deadline, Nonis should be fired on the spot.

But, since he’s been Burke’s bro for years, and we saw Burke not trade Cammellari and let him go for nothing, its entirely possible Nonis can be that dumb.

My hope is that Shanahan is ultimately going to make the decision to trade these guys. If there is as much interest in Winnik as being reported, I would hope we could some how manage to get a 2nd for him. But even if we end up with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for him, Franson and Santorelli I think it would be big for the Leafs heading into the draft. Letting these guys walk for nothing would be horrible asset management by the Leafs.

Getting that would be amazing as its a deep draft and ammo to move up for another pick possibly. I have a feeling if the cards are played right we can get a little more even. There is no reason, those 3 and possibly others are Leafs past the deadline. The deadline is going to be the make or break Nonis, if he fairs well Shanny might keep him and see what they can do in the summer at the draft? And as much as I agree with that idiot Kyreos for once, the problem remains unless they have someone to replace him with right away, they have nobody else who has actually run an NHL team.

I think Burke and Nonis had some magic given Burke is aggressive top and aggressive and Nonis is a submissive patient bottom.

Wonder if they still go on their brokeback fishing trip in the off season.

A bit concerning that we have a lot of watchers and no doers in the organization. This would be a good time to employ Cliff Fletcher. He had a great deadline until Mats pissed on it.

Now Kane to Buffalo becomes very interesting to me. It is a trade that nobody really saw coming. Now that he has had surgery it makes more sense this way, but could cause other teams to over pay if they want him. They then might have to acquire other players for the playoff run depending what they give off their roster. Wpg badly needs to make the playoffs, so if Chev can make this work it might just save his job.
