Could the Canucks trade Miller?
Maybe the goalie market really does stink right now, but the Canucks had a chance to trade Ryan Miller in the offseason and passed.
Why?
Miller is 35 years old. The Canucks are a team on the rebuild. Why is it so important to have an aging veteran who is no longer a bona fide No. 1 on the team?
There clearly is merit in having him mentor a guy like Jacob Markstrom. But what if Miller does have some value on Monday?
There aren’t a lot of teams looking for goalies, but there also aren’t a lot of decent goalies available on the market.
Looking into a Miller trade shouldn’t just be a deadline thing, but it’s a good place to start.
