Updates on Trade Rumors

Could Potvin sing with the Blues? Jagr still needs a center line-mate by his side, is Hrdina still on the block, passing by is Zubrus? So many rumors on the Rangers, yet Sather makes them seem like useless ones, how so? Are the Caps having Oatmeal cereal for breakfast next week?

Blackhawks Fans UNITE

Alright Hawks fans, enough is enough. It is time for us to stand up to the horrid management that our beloved Hawks are run by.

Puck Sight – Fall Fashion Edition

First off, let me come right out and say that I am 100% heterosexual, happily married and do not wear loafers (let alone light ones). All joking aside, by special request (you can all thank bcuffari for this) this is a guide through the good and bad uniforms in the league.

Puck Sight (Sept. 7)

The status of Jason Allison has been the subject of numerous submissions lately, I’ll outline a few of them for everyone. The pre-season schedule gets underway next weekend, I’ll point out a few of the more intresting locales for games. I’ll also throw out some more interesting stats from last year too.

How do get people to tune in?

Something that has always bothered me, is T.V. ratings for the NHL. In the U.S., hockey is a tough sell. It was reported that the XFL had higher ratings than the NHL last season. There is something wrong with this picture.

Caps may have issues.

With training camps set to open up next week one has to wonder what exactly Ron Wilson and the Caps have in mind for their squad.

Surprises and Disappointments

I’m not going to try and predict the final standings and points for every team in the league. Instead, I’m just going to give my opinions on who may surprise everybody and who could disappoint in the upcoming season based on their off-season moves.

Hurricane

The Carolina Hurricanes have locked up thier star center for six more years. Brind’Amour had 56 points last year good for 4th on the team, but he is better known for his leadership, tenacity and gritty play.

How will the standings go?

I’m sick of new people to the boards sending in these really off-the-wall standings and only giving one line to explain why they will end up that way. Let’s go in-depth about this and share our opinions and see how close we get.

Oates vs Caps, Poti Highly Tradable, Nucks Trust Cloots?, Potvin Won't Be King f

Oates makes Wilson look ridiculous. Poti learns from Allison. GM Burke seems undecided on the goaltending situation. Potvin displeased with the Kings. It is an unhappy day for some players, should it be?

Hedberg, Penguins Agree to Deal

The week did not start off well for Johan Hedberg. First, he was denied a working visa to enter the United States because he did not have a contract so he therefore did not have a job which is a qualification for a working visa.

Well, things got a bit easier today. Johan Hedberg, 28, signed a new deal with the Penguins. In accordance with club policy, the terms of the deal were not released but it is believed that the deal is a three year deal worth around $3 mil. The Penguins have invited six goaltenders to this years camp.

The Captain of the Montreal Canadiens has cancer.

What is happening with Saku is a tragedy. He is only 26, and fighting the biggest battle of his life.

What ever happens next is in the hands of God. Would he be strong enough to overcome this sickness. I like to say yes. Lance Arsmstrong is the perfect example. After, overcoming a cancer, and almost loosing his life, he came back to win the Tour de France 3 times. Wow!

I invite hockey fans, like or dislike the Habs, to do a little prayer for Saku, and hope he gets back his health.

As for the situation on the ice, Savard obviously is not thinking about that at the moment, but soon he will.

Does that mean that it is emminent that a keeper and a defensman should be traded in the intention of getting a power forward ???

Canadiens Captain Out Already!

Montreal Canadiens captain Saku Koivu is reportedly in a Montreal hospital suffering from abdominal pain. He is currently under examination to find out exactly what’s wrong.
