Struggling NHL teams ponder change
The Anaheim Ducks are also on the clock. That team suffered a horrific start, putting coach Bruce Boudreau on the spot. Randy Carlyle is the best NHL coach currently not working, but the Ducks could turn to former Senators coach (and yesteryear Blues winger) Paul MacLean instead.
Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Johnston is scrambling. Superstar Sidney Crosby suffered a slow start and Johnston juggled his lines, moving Phil Kessel away from Crosby to Evgeni Malkin’s flank. With that franchise for sale, GM Jim Rutherford finds himself in a tough spot.
The Calgary Flames also have issues. The team ran goaltender Karri Ramo through waivers and now, according to Sportsnet, GM Brad Trevliving is sniffing around for potential major changes.
