Thrashers have many players to deal

AJC.com is reporting that there are many different Thrashers who “are potential trade targets.”

It is reported that “Defenseman Niclas Havelid and forwards Marty Reasoner and Eric Perrin are unrestricted free agents unless they are re-signed before July 1” and HTR feels that it is very likely that the Thrashers will try to deal each the listed players.

Some other names that are mentioned as possibly on the trade block include “Colby Armstrong and Erik Christensen also could pop up in trade discussions, as could an affordable veteran defenseman such as Garnet Exelby, who has one season left on a contract that pays him $1.4 million per year.”

HTR believes that the thrashers will have a firesale before the deadline. There is very little reason for the thrashers to hang onto any of these players as they are virtually out of the playoff race. Look for the Thrashers to get what they can for the listed players in this article,
