On August 7, 2002, USA Today reported that Bryan Berard was very close to signing with the Boston Bruins. Sure, he had an inconsistent comeback year, but who wouldn’t after an injury like he had. Could this soon-to-be signing be the defencemen the Bruins have been looking for?

HTR has its own Instant Messenger. It’s a good way to talk to other HTR members about topics. Also, it would come in handy when HTR creates a Fantasy Hockey League. HTR is planning to create a pay league with money as prize. It will be cheaper than other fantasy leagues. The money would help HTR as a site, probably less pop-up windows.

(Aug 9) tsn.ca – The agent for goaltender Jose Theodore and Montreal Canadiens general manager Andre Savard met briefly on Thursday but the two sides are still no closer to a deal.

Is less more? According to the powers that be at Disney, it is. For the 2002-2003 season, ESPN and ESPN2 will cut the number of televised games from 102 to 71. Their argument is that they do not want to saturate the market with uninteresting games and would rather focus on higher rated games.

Why the NHL needs a salary cap.

As 2004 rapidly approaches all of us hardcore hockey fans will keep watching hockey even if there is a work stoppage. Saying that, hockey has had a great year the 2001-2002 campaign is full of great stories: The Carolina Hurricanes, Jose Theodore, Jarome Iginla, Team Canada and the olympics on a whole. Many new fans have been introduced to the game the past season. But a lock-out of the players might be what the league needs to survive.
