I have heard that th Rangers offered Chris Simon and Todd Marchant 5 year deals worth $68 million and are actively pursuing Yzerman, Federov, Whitney, Nieuwendyk, Hull, Svehla and Desjardins, thus pushing their payroll to a New Yoprk Yankees-esque $175 million +. The NHL is looking into tampering allegations.

OK, not true, but I can see it happening in July.

Does anyone know – if so, can you please tell (write) me- the best way to get a listing of each NHL teams 2002-2003 payroll? I do believe this payroll listing would be very beneficial in determining which of the teams will be able to sign their own free agents and also, which of the teams can afford to go out and sign unrestricted free agents. Thank you.

No, he’ll stay in Pittsburgh, and they’ll still miss the playoffs…

  11. Aetherial says:

I would like to see a post describing the rules of Free Agency… i.e. restricted vs. unrestricted group I Group II etc.

match the players in each category.

Hey I’m a Leafs fan and I think the Leafs are in serious trouble… there could be some dollars spent next summer

So long as it isn’t 9mil for Holik, ROFL!

  12. Leaf_Expert says:

Your wrong about almost most of them

  13. Blueandwhite says:

I agree, but they better resign Roberts, other than that I so far have no clue as to what to do for this team.

  14. garry1221 says:

dunno bout the rest, but detroit’s got a few vets becoming UFA’s

Fedorov, Hull, Larionov and Yzerman, along w/ Maltby and McCarty… granted i see 2 or 3 names being resigned before they reach the open market, namely feds, maltby, mac or hull…. stevie will be resigned if his knee is good

  15. Sundinfan says:

forsberg is a free agent after this year, we better resign him

  16. Tradedude says:

maybe quinn can get rid of lumme, and bolster their team to the cup. thats all we need to do, get the f.uck rid of Lumme, and we’ll win for sure, guarenteed, oh and quinn better re-sign roberts or ill kill him, but im pretty dam sure that quinn isnt stupid enough to not re-sign him

leafs should sign morstrom, but i dont think l.a is stupid enough to trade their captain

  17. Tradedude says:

ok. here is what quinn should do

    1. get rid of Lumme, kidd, Reichel, maybe Hoglund if he can’t get 12 or more goals this season

    2. re-sign roberts, i dont care how much money, just not 9 mil like holik, lol.

    3. trade for some prospects, maybe barrett jackman from st louis.

    4. sign a power forward and a young 23 – 28 yr old top 4 defenseman.

    5. get new GM, that’s dyrden’s job.

    anyone have other suggestions?

  18. mikster says:

Graves is a UFA, Messier should retire….Slats should re-sign Graves and make him Captain.

    I wish…

  19. saiklo says:

Really, gosh i thought Mario would have gone?
