This will probably be the downfall of Team Canada. All of the the kids posting on this site think these veteran players are infallible. On the big surfaces, they will be exposed and be beaten by faster and less talented teams. Their defense is very suspect and their forwards are used to playing on the NHL sized rinks. They should have used only players who have played international hockey in the past three years.

I said three months ago that the gold medal would be decided between the Swedes, Russians or Czech Republic. I understand all of the hooplah over the Canadian team. It is a great NHL team on an NHL size rink. This medal will be decided on a 200x100 ft. rink which is not conducive to the NHL style of game. The last Olympics was played on an NHL sized rink in Salt Lake, and to no one's surprise, Canada and the USA met in the finals. This won't happen this year. Canada's best bet this year, would have been, to take all of the younger players from the recent teams which have done so well in recent tournaments, with players like Crosby, Staal, Richards and Carter mixed in with veterans. I honestly see both Canada and the USA being shut out of a medal. If Forsberg can play, Sweden wins the gold...Russia takes second...Czechs come in third.
