Leafs' free agents to be trade bait for Brian Burke

With the trade deadline approaching, a number of pending free agents to be dealt with and a team making a series of starts and stops at the bottom of the standings, Leafs GM Brian Burke wants stability for his players.

Predators' lease may be in default

Metro lawyers and a designee of the Metro Sports Authority will meet as early as this week with Nashville Predators officials to hash out issues surrounding lead owner David Freeman’s federal tax troubles and whether the team is in default on its arena lease with the city.

Time to move on from the last pieces of the JFJ era?
