900 For Super Joe

Yes Super Joe is still making his way up in the history books.

He Just got his 900 career assist (while playing the Flames on Sunday) and also came 11 in nhl in points,by passing Stan Mikita.

Sure Super Joe is one of the oldest in the nhl but he’s playing with heart and not giving up on himself, while trying to go higher in the point list.

There not much to say about Sakic that was already said about him. A ture leader that’s what he is and a valuable player to have on anyteam looking to win championship.

He won everything there is to win in the nhl.

Keep the Milestones coming Joe reach for 600 goals and 1,500 points you can do it we all believe.

    sakic is great

  2. muckies says:

Sakic is cool, but Big Brian McGratton would knock him out in one punch.

  3. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

yea cause he knows ottawa will never get a talent like sakic.

  4. propiro98 says:

So? Mike Tyson can eat your children, And knock out Mcgratton with one punch. whats the point of your comment?

  5. SJ_Sharks_Fan_19 says:

what are you talking about! They had Daigle remember 🙂

  6. dre2k5 says:

he is one of those guys that you know is great but every once in a while you are just like oh snap…i forgot HOW good he is/has been for so long. No one thought the Avs would be challenging for first in the division and while they have gotten a lot of contributions from different guys without Sakic wearing the C they wouldnt be where they are.

  7. muckies says:

I don’t have children, so your wrong.

But McBratton could still knock him out.

    Keep your head up Joe.

  8. UWSensFan says:

Don’t forget…Sakic has also got an Olympic Gold medal to add to his trophy rack. Hall of famer for sure.

  9. zane says:

This had nothing to do with anyone getting knockout

I still loathe the fact that he could have been a Ranger. It would have made the loss of Mark Messier A LOT EASIER for the Rangers. All they had to do was to go back over the 8 mill match and they could have had him.

What a dumbass Neil Smith was. If you’re going to persue a player like that, make it count.

Moving on… my hat goes off to Joe. He’s one of the greatest I’ve ever seen, and no one has a wrist shot like his. Easily the best wrister I’ve ever seen. A true champion. He’ll probably finish his career with 600 goals, 1000 assists, and 1700 points, and with 2 cups, a gold medal, a Hart, a Smythe, a Lady Byng, and a Pearson, this guy is a lock for Toronto as it is already.

    Congratulations, Joe.

    It’s part of the game!

It still pisses me off that people think that putz Forsberg is better then Burnaby Joe!

  14. thatleafsguy says:

Funny thing is Mcgrattan will be out of the league in 3 years i wonder if he’ll be able to make the crowd rise to their feet at the unemployment line as well as he seems to think he does in his home rink.

    Mcgrattan is a useless goof.

  15. thatleafsguy says:

What do you expect from a Superstar player? His early career line mate from the Nordique era isn’t doing to bad either Sundin is on fire in his last 6 or 7 games, like 13-15 points. Take it all in people these guys won’t be around forever.

  16. thatleafsguy says:

my bad more like 10 points in his last 7 games, still pretty good.

  17. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

    my mistake i apologize.

  18. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

good point i have grown up watching sakic play. soon its going to be the kids growing up watching the likes of ovechkin, crosby svatos malkin play.

  19. muckies says:

Tell that to Domi’s broken nose or Belak’s face.

  20. LeafyMcLeaf says:

The times really are changing. Francis, Messier, Damphouse, Hull, Andreychuck, Stevens, MacInnis, Palffy, and Lemieux are all gone, and we can expect to see Thomas (STILL an UFA), Chelios, Yzerman, Sakic, Brind’Amour, Blake, Modano, Foote, Daze, Osgood, Roberts, Nieuwendyk, Roenick, Robitaille, Walz, Mogilny, Primeau, CuJo, Ricci, Leclair, Richardson, Kolzig, and prolly some more retire soon.

And it sucks more, because while I was very young watching these guys growing up, this is the end of an era. These are the last guys who are embarrased to be lying on the ice in pain, who think of diving as tarnishing a teams reputation, who keep it simple, and shoot, hit, and dump and chasem, the guys who’d take a pay cut to finish their career somewhere they love. Lets hope some of the guys today grow up. There are already a few kids who are like the older players, which is good to see. Ovechkin, Thornton, Iginla, Smyth, they’re beauties. Not like that pansy Jagr.

  21. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

jagr >>>> thornton iginla smyth any day.

explain why he is a pansy when the jagr of old is clearly back in action this year.

  22. SJ_Sharks_Fan_19 says:

NO it goes Thornton >>>>>>>> Jagr>>>>>>>> everyone else

  23. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

    now it does i guess.

  24. thatleafsguy says:

Like it matters? You can break as much as you want on the 2 of them, hes’s still a useless ape, who could probably get his ass kicked just walking through a club and looking at someone the wrong way.

  25. mtrakker85 says:

    Jagr needs the mullett!!!!

  26. tacitus says:

Sakic is gonna do something very few players do these days. It’s a harder thing to do then win the Stanley Cup. He will probably only play for one team even thou it is with 2 different cities. Lemieux, Yzerman, Lidstrom are the other likely’s to never have been traded or leave for greener pastures. Not that there was greener pastures for a Redwing. I think its one of the most honorable things in sports to stay with ur team. Bourque even left Boston and won a cup but he had to leave his team to do it.
