Way out there and way off topic, but does anybody think that if Malcolm Subban is available by the 33rd pick, will the habs take him? He’s projected late first round, so it’s not a huge stretch but I thought that would be intriguing. Honestly you can’t have too many goalie prospects and/or starting goalies ie. LA, St. Louis, Vancouver.

Oops. It leads me to an interesting point though. When I was scrolling through the players it was surprising to notice how many good Americans there were. They may lack the star power but you could definitely make two solid teams if not 3 as well.

Lots of good young American defenseman in particular.

I don’t really know if he would want to be there. If he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to Malkin/Crosby, is he really going to want to play second fiddle to his brother? My gut says no.

Maybe I’m not giving enough credit to the option of playing with a brother though.

That would be pretty epic. Holmgren acquiring another top 10 pick in two successive years? Definitely becoming one of my favourite GM’s. Dude can wheel.

I also want to see what Chuck Fletcher does. I’d love to see him make the draft his playground again.

Apparently Keith Yandle might be available? Wow that’s sort of shocking (but then again not really). I guess with OEL playing like he did last season and both Rundblad and Gormely in the pipeline, Phoenix might feel it makes sense to move Yandle for some offensive help?

I have to imagine Philly becomes hugely interested. Boston too, as they have been reportedly interested for a long time.
