I think we could get a 2nd rounder for Franson.. Maybe a team like Edmonton would pay that, that's basically a late first round pick

So can someone help with this. I have looked at center options through trade and without having to give away the farm these are a few that I would consider going after. Please comment to see if these pieces could be a stop gap until we draft size down the middle.Stastny, filpula, horcoff, loktinov Plus we have colburne coming up and grabo is a good 2nd C

Don't get excited over next years UFAs either LN91... At this point I'm sure most get contract extensions.. well the perrys and getzlafs will anyway... The only thing that could be nice is if those two guys want out of the anaheim situation... It could happen but I'm not expecting it

Have to admit i'm pretty satisfied as well. 6 years is decent and 6,5 is not that bad. I was scared a bit there, thought he was trying to top Rinne's contract.

Onto P.K. now shall we

oh sweet are we looking at stats? Good:

Mike Smith played more games this year than Price and got a GAA of 2.21 and a Sv% of 0.930.

Carey Price got a GAA of 2.43 and a Sv% of 0.916.

I guess Montreal should trade Price straight up for Smith (save cap and get a better goalie).

Stats are important but you can't be completely caught up in them otherwise your arguments start to lose ground quick. For example, what do those stats above prove? Dick-all.

Plus why the heck are you arguing that Price is better than the whole division anyway? The original post was simply stating how good the Leafs' division rivals was for goaltending.

The fact is Price does have question marks (I do believe he is worth every penny of that 6.5M especially when the alternative is to trade him for parts that are not as valuable (Halak trade anyone?)).

Price will play like a Vezina goalie then play like an AHL backup, then up then down, etc. Very similar to Luongo, he is an elite goalie, top 10 in the league for sure, potential top 5 (depending who you talk to) but he does have his flaws.
