My Suggestions and Predictions for Gainey

Thus far, Bob Gainey has pulled off much of what I have been waiting for during the 06 off season. In order to capitalize on the offseason and produce an extremely strong team for the 06-07 season, Gainey needs a large centerman. Many habs fans had hoped for the Shannahan deal to go through, myself included, but when he acquired Samsonov he gained the teams offensive strength although we still lack size.

Bruins still a no chemistry team?

The Boston Bruins were a failure last year, but not because of lack of talent, they were failing when they had Murray, Thornton, Samsonov, Leetch, Bergeron, Boyes, Boynton, Zhamnov, and McEachern, and continued to fail when Thornton was dealt for spare parts Marco Sturm, Wayne Primeau, and Brad Stuart. The problem has never been talent, but chemistry.

The Real Cap Situation!

People have been saying that the Leafs only have 1.8 million left in cap room well they are wrong!

I did the math and it turns out the Buds have about $4,100,000 in cap room.

Lafontaine bows out!

TSN.ca is reporting that, shortly after announcing the firing of Neil Smith as the Isles G.M. and replacing him by Garth Snow, Hall of Famer Pat Lafontaine tendered his resignation to owner Charles Wang. Details are not known at this time but this can only be a major blow to an organization trying to rebuild its front office from the ruins left by Mike Millbury.

Canucks hire assistant coaches.

The NHL official website has announced that the Vancouver Canucks have hired Rick Bowness, Mike Kelly and Barry Smith to assist the Canucks new head coach Alain Vigneault.

Carter Probably Not Becoming A Leaf

The Leafs have about 1.8 million dollars left and they still have to sign Stajan. I wish we could get Carter too but I don’t think we will be. If we sign Stajan for 600,000 it’s possible that Carter would except for 1.2 million but I doubt it and we want flexibility room so I don’t think we will be getting Carter.
