Bob Gainey might be the smartest GM in the NHL. Towards the end of last season The Hockey News ran an article saying that it is not a matter of if but when will Montreal win the Stanley Cup. Like passionch though, I do think that not re-signing Yanic Perreault last season may have been a mistake. The guy scored over 20 goals and is the best face-off man in the NHL. Now we have Radek Bonk. How many goals…2? But its hard to criticize the move that brought Cristobal Huet to Montreal.

Older players were replaced by young talented ones. I do however, miss good ol’ Perreault and his face-off skills and charisma. He should have stayed.
