This definitely wont get it done for Brown. LA shouldn't (soo many rumors saying he is as good as gone) trade Brown for that kind of package. After trading a defenseman to get more scoring in Carter, it would be redundant to trade Brown for a defenseman and/or picks.

One person mentioned LA trading Brown to BUF for Roy & Sekera. While I don't think this deal would get done, that is what LA would need in return, a replacement top 6 forward and a top 4 or top 6 defense. Trading for picks now is kind of stupid unless it is to sweeten that deal (Roy, Sekera, 2nd for Brown).

Obviously trading Nash > Brown lol but u get what Im saying...

And I dono about this Spooner kid, still see him as a B level prospect. A lil over a PPG player in junior, a lil undersized. Nothing too special..

But yea...Chiarelli will prob do some Peverly/Kelly type deals...should of called Howson for Vermette if you ask me...he missed out!

Maybe he can pry Travis Moen from Montreal??

That's what I'm thinking. Spooner might be pretty attractive to some teams, but yeah, no blue chip prospects there. But hey, the Peverley and Kelly acquisitions worked wonders and they weren't big deals.

Brown is unlikely, but I wouldn't be shocked. I consider a Nash trade on a whole other level than a Brown trade.

Well if Hamilton is off the table that leaves Kochlachev, Caron, Spooner, Knight, 2012 and 2013 1st rounders. No 2nd rounder this year..

And any all of those prospects are B level so Im not sure if he has the assets Lombardi will want.. Maybe he will be doing more tinkering instead of a massive trade ala Dustin Brown/Rick Nash??

The Brown/Horton comparison is a good one, except I think Wideman had a lot more value than Horton, even if he was coming off a terrible season.

Chiarelli said he plans to be very active in the trade market so I think he's definitely committed to a repeat, but he has said he does not want to move Hamilton, who's our only blue chip prospect.

I could see a trade go down like the Nathan Horton trade. They are both similar players however Brown would most likely cost more since Horton wanted to GTFO of Florida.

To Boston: Dustin Brown
To LA: Joe Corvo, 1st rounder, 2nd rounder

Corvo is a rental but the picks could make LA bite. Maybe add Dan Paille/Greg Campbell or some other forward rental to take up a roster spot?

If that doesnt work then you know that Lombardi has his eyes on Dougie Hamilton.

Gotta ask..how committed is Chiarelli for a repeat??

I'm all for Brown if he's actually available. This guy was born to be a Bruin. Still though, I don't know if the Bruins have what it takes to make an offer for him. The Kings probably want something for right now, and that's most likely defense. Even if they don't want something for right now, they'd probably insist that Hamilton be involved, which I'd be extremely hesitant to do. Still though… Brown is a PERFECT fit on this roster.
