They didnt get Chouinard for his point getting ability… they signed him becuase he is a good two way forward and he can with faceoffs. Which is what Vancouver badly needs… Dont get me wrong, Linden is my personal hero, but he just wasnt getting it done last year. Now they have the ability to force a play on the powerplay or pressure the opposing team when they have the man advantage by winning key faceoffs…. Alot of people on here dont understand that money doesnt equal points, its a team game, value is not determined so much be individual effort but more on where you fit in on the big picture… Unless your Ovechkin, then you can do whatever the hell you want….

Unless a good trade for Nazzy or Morrison for a first line capable forward and an NHL ready defensmen/forward? I bet you will see kesler getting a continuation of his first line tryout from last year, where he excelled.

He signed for 1.1 Million per year, which fair for who he is and what he brings and frees up Kesler for a tryout in the firstline RW position, which if you remember he spent a lot of time on the first line late last season and excelled. He also is a more offensive RW and a more defensive center as shown by his Moose numbers where he played RW.

When you think about it, the Canucks 'first lines' biggest knock was that they were, for lack of a better word, craptascular in their own zone. moving Kesler up to first line duties will help solidfy that and garauntee more icetime for the Sedins and we would now definetly have line 1A and 1B. If Kesler flubs a little bit up there Cooke can take his place, Chouinard may get a chance, Reid may get a tryout.... People want the best players all the time, but all you need are the right players.

I still remember that year in the playoffs when Reid came up, pure energy.

I'm thinking if we don't sign carter, Cooke will be with Morr / Nasy

Put Kessler with the Sedin's

Chouinard / Linden round out our 2 other centers and we have a bunch of young guys left. even King could jump in with the Sedin's and we can test him up

We only have 8 million left in cap now ( i actually ready chouinard signed for 2.2 ) so we have even less.. Does this mean no carter for sure?

meh.. carter is screwing up if he leaves.. sedin's made him, he didn't make the sedin's

I think Kesler will have a break out year and get 20 to 30 goals playing with Nassy and Morrison on the 2nd line,now they just need to sign Carter back to play with the Sedins on the top line.I say the Canucks should sign Lindros too they can porbably get him for a mill or 2 and get Simon for there 4th line they need some toughness.What does everyone think????
