Sure I can't criticize Nonnis for making many bad signings or trades, because he is so passive. Its like he doesn't exist. Take this summer for example, his most pressing need is getting some offense, does he do anything? Nope. The cap went up so cap space isn't the issue. If he doesn't like whose available in the UFA market the least he could is get some average players like Jeff O'Neil who he could sign to a one year deal.

Mitchell is a good defenseman, but that was last summer, Bieska a steal? That's a bold claim, he still has a lot to prove. Salo isn't anything special, if Anson Carter was a good move, then letting him walk wasn't. Pyatt is filler, Jeff Cowen needs to train hard in the off season so that he can one day develop into filler.
If signing Willie Mitchell is considered a big move, it only emphasizes my point that Nonis is lifeless.

Both the management and style of play for the Canucks are timidly conservative and boring.

Nonnis signed Willie Mitchell for a very good price. He got a steal for Bieksa and Salo. He got Anson Carter. He aquired Taylor Pyatt for almost nothing. He got Jeff Cowen for nothing.

Yes he signed Marc Chouinard to a bad contract, and had a bad 2006 trade deadline, so whatever it happens.

At least JFJ has a pulse, Nonis has made one good trade and …….. ah……… um……… well he (no getting Carney wasn't a good trade either)….. well he got Luongo good for him.

Jozef Balej? I remember him being with the Habs. He was traded to the Rangers for Kovy. He had some skills. What’s been going on with him with the Canucks?
