I have a hard time imagining that Kvasha is going to have a successful NHL career at this point. Both he and Vladimir Malakhov have been the most maddening players to watch in the league in the last 4 or 5 years. Players with just wondrous physical gifts and raw hockey talent who just do not make much of a difference when it's all said and done.

Ozolinsh for Niemenen was definitely worth it. That is essentially what the Rangers did. Niemenen is a rough and tumble customer, but is just incredibly inconsistent and takes some horrible penalties. Plus, we have a younger version of him in Ryan Hollweg. And Ozolinsh has already ignited the Rangers power play. If he can find a steady partner on the blueline, the Rangers are going to be a team that no one wants to be up against in the playoffs.

You can definitely make a great case for Lundqvist for the Calder. The more I think about it, the more that I think he should win. Without him, the Rangers do not make the playoffs.

Sather was very, very smart not to go after Gonchar. Ozolinsh is not that much older, and is actually better in his own end. You're right, he is better, but in almost all facets of the game right now. The only thing Gonchar has on Ozolinsh is that his point shot is a smidgeon harder.

Well the Rangers have really put me in my place this year. I kept saying they would fall apart but they never did.

I was expecting them to go after Gonchar at the deadline. They may have, but they went for a better player in Ozolanish. They have their quaterback on the PP and they have the MVP and quite possibly the rocket richard winner. I don't care what Ovechikin or Crosby are doing, Lundqvist is the Calder winner this year. To take a team like the Rangers, a team who has been known for underachieving for a number of years to first in the Atlantic is just fantastic.

The Rangers power play has been amazing since the Ozolinsh trade. He is exactly what they needed. As long as he can stay away from the bottle and the rest of the team can stay relatively healthy, the Rangers will be dangerous in the playoffs, especially with Lundqvist between the pipes.

Jagr = MVP

Well if Dimitrakos-Carter-Umberger keep up what they are doing they may end up being a very nice fantasy pick up for some points. I have Jeff Carter on one of my teams and him having 3 straight games with goals isn't a bad thing for me.
