Where is he going to play??? Maybe the puppy pack, not much room for him, but then again, why not let another young guy rot for a guy over 30??

  2. mikster says:

This was a pointless acquisition. I mean, i think he was signed just as a player to use for the LW when injuries come in the way or if a young LW can’t crack the line-up.

It’s probably a two-way contract worth…..little…..and when he is down in the minors he gets paid less. So, it’s not bad, just kinda pointless.

    How Typical…

GOD forbid they give a guy on the farm a chance…on the fourth line no less…

  5. mikster says:

    news are news….

  6. MantaRay says:

Donato signed for $5 million per season, this way they can trade Brendl for Sather favorite Josef Beranek

  7. Chandlerisback says:

He was part of the Lindros deal.

  8. Chandlerisback says:

With all the signings….rumors on Nedved…there’s a post about Donato.

    LOL….like only interesting news ppl!

and everyone stop doing those evaluations on the offseason….it hasn’t even been 2 weeks.

  9. Chandlerisback says:

They really hate good young talent

    its like kriptonite

  10. Chandlerisback says:

figures tho it is a rangers post lol

wheres the other 20 teams posts….I havent read a buffalo…chicago or edmonton article in a long time

Id write one but im too tired

  11. Chandlerisback says:

No contract in New York is small LOL

theres a 3 million dollar minimum lol jk

  12. sexwax says:

Is english your second language? News is news there buddy.

  13. mikster says:

Yes it is my second language and and there’s nothing really wrong when you tell someone “news is news” like a dog is a dog”

  14. mikster says:

    3 million dollars? Naa……that’s like 300 dollars. I bet it’s 6 at least 🙂

Hehe, naa i know what Donato makes, it’s a fair price considering he could be in Hartford.

  15. mikster says:

What’s the big deal about this? I know it’s not breaking news….but it’s still news in the hockey world.

  16. MantaRay says:

    I meant Lundmark…oh well.

  17. DaMick says:

seems as though the vultures have already started dusting off thier feathers…just in case the Rangers fail this year…

    check this out…

“Granted it’s a crowded field but New York Rangers GM Glen Sather deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award in barefaced hypocrisy for his work this summer. Sather, you may recall, portrayed himself as the champion of all small-market teams during the latter days of his Edmonton tenure.” [faceoff.com]

Now considering thier offseason….i was kinda suprised hes already getting bashed…

i mean the season HASNT even started….

Though im a Isles fan…i wouldnt criticize Sather….hes playing with millions of play money [aka Cablevisions $$$]

the 3 signings he made i thought were pretty good….[yes even overpaying Holik was fine…Holik does more than score..he indimidates which is sorely needed on the rangers because Lindros,Bure,Messier,Leetch CANT]

the only deal id bash Sather …was the York-Poti deal….im glad the Isles never got Poti..

    i think Poti’s a bit overatted & York i think is a great 2way center….

so to all You Ranger fans…get ready to start reading alot of SatherBashing

    I agree though.

Lundmark will end up like Brendl.

  19. sexwax says:

WHY—someone explain this to me.With the amonte, nedved rumors and stuff–they sign Donato.HOPEFULLY–its all part of some master plan,to be included in a package deal.

Ex-Karpa/Donato for York…..I wish york was back.

Ex. Nedved,Dvorak and donato for Tchacuk.(lol)Not bad idea,though-

WHY—-Sather should be getting us DEFENSEMEN–There are still a few UFA defensemen out threre-steve duchene for example.WE NEED BETTER D-CORPS…not nobodys, not throwbacks.

  23. canadian_hockey_rules says:

sorry my friend i think the money well is almost out. Clearly by signing Donato who played all of what 5 games last year sather is nearly done. Noone will take donato in a trade. There were no rumors for him and he is quite damaged goods. He’s probably just an insurance policy for injuries or failed attempts by youth.

Did you know every day Americans use 4.8 billion gallons of water flushing the toilet? Thats alot of flushing.

  25. Chandlerisback says:

    That’s a lot of turd-bergalers

  26. mikster says:

no way, he has an excellent work ethic and has great leadership skills. he is the exact opposite of brendl. at least lundmark can make in impact in the ahl, brendl should remain with his junior team

  27. rangersmac says:

    You are all morons …

    Holik – 6.75 million

    Kaspar 4.25 million

Do some reading before you post about other teams. Our farm is fine, it is being re-filled while Sather builds the team for now. Just wait Ranger bashers. While we hold the cup in the next few years, and you cry about our “inflated” budget, us Ranger fans will be pointing and laughing as you whine ever so helplessly that we “cheated” or “ruined the NHL” with our spending.

I dont give a damn about payroll, what is imporant to all of you should be winning, and if your team isnt winning the cup then go and ***** at them and dont worry about the Rangers. Your jealousy is comforting, but really…. get a life … there is more to it than the Rangers and their payroll

  28. MantaRay says:

He might be all that but he was a Neil Smith pick, so expect him either not to play or to be traded.

  29. MantaRay says:

Granted Sather has made alot of dumb moves as GM of the Rangers, but his job is on the line, so its all or nothing this year.

I must say, its been a farcical endeavor.

The three headed coaching monster is a recipe for disaster.

When he gets fired this year alot of humor will be missing from hockey in the New York area.

  30. big_booty says:

Did you know that if you drink a glass of water it takes at least twice the amount you drank just to clean the glass?

  31. booty says:

Your farm is being refilled? With who? And please, don’t talk of holding the cup just yet.

  32. booty says:

Tell me something. Why would a team give away good players, like Tkachuk or York, for the Rangers’ scrubs, like Karpa, Donato, Nedved, etc.? Those two trades you proposed are so one-sided it’s not even funny.

  33. booty says:

Get this: if you burp, sneeze, cough, and fart all at the same time, you’ll die.

  34. HoCk03 says:

i got to skate with both lundmark and brendl in a rangers run skating camp and i must say brendl was a dog last guy on the ice first guy off lundmark had more of a commitment but still niether came close to the work ethic of filip novak who they traded away

  35. nskerr says:

Ted Donato, no way. That just tilted the balance of power to the East.

  36. MantaRay says:

Wow, that is really cool. How was Novak, do you think he will be a good as some people are projecting?

  37. MantaRay says:

A farm teams record is insignificant, it is a teaching forum above all else. Its where good players are developed to realize their be potential. Who cares about their record?

If you roster is filled with ex-NHL players, your future players will suffer.
