umm, seriously man, i really could care less if he's french or not and i didn't say he was a *****ing bad pick. his name could b Ryan Ihavenopenis for all i care, as long as he can play. he could have raped a chick and i wouldn't care (thats a lil much i kno, but catch my drift?). Mike Komisarek isn't French and when the Habs drafed him, i was ecstatic. Andrei Kostitsyn isn't French and i liked that pick although i believe montreal could have gotten a better offensive player. Koivu isn't French and he's by far my favourite player. I hate Franciz Bouillon and he's French. Catch my drift yet?

If all Schneider wanted was 3.5 million per season he would be signed already. Holland said Schneider was looking for way more then the Wings were looking to sign him for which is more likely over 4 - 4.5 million per season maybe even 5 million. If he can't get that much he would likely take less from the Wings and have another shot at the cup before moving his family to Montreal.

As for Handzus he has said he is looking for 4 million per season and a team will likely give him that or close to it since Hartnell is making that much.

Preissing will likely get atleast 2.5 to 3 million a year since he is this years Brian Pothier and Pothier got 2.5 million on a long term deal from Washington.

If your thinking of Montreal signing these players (the ones i just mentioned) for cheap the only way that would happen is if they are not signed before training camp opens and no teams are calling for them anymore.

The reality is that we haven't had a 50 goals scorer for twenty yearS and a 100pts man for 25 years. So yes Montreal had problems drafting stars till Timins showed up but i didn't want MTL to make a deffensive D-man there first pick but then went on to draft FIVE more, everybody say that MTL needs D-Men, what we need is a SPARK, A prospect that has a chance to become a electrifying Superstar one day! But Timins has proven time after time that HE knew more than i did when it came to drafting!

ok, im not bashing Gainey or any of the Habs scouts. the "terrible" i put ther was from the Pierre McGuire's own words before the draft and during the draft. But, u can not, i repeat CANNOT say Gainey and his staff haven't made a bad pick because they have.

trust me, they will be. Look at Komisarek, was in university 1 year and played 45 games in Hamilton and made the jump to the Habs. Same will go for McDonagh and Pocieretty.

it's fair to bash gainey for missing the playoff, but too early to bash him for the draft.
