sure he waited too long but he made the play in the end. Smith didnt just ‘skate by’ … he failed to receive the past and then failed a second time – waffing at a clearing attempt. Smith made 2 mistakes. Conklin made one small one.

Smith is a sure-handed vet. Conklin is a young, cold goalie.

smith’s fault IMO.

I’m sure they’d both want to have that back, but it was all Conklin’s fault.

That being said, he hadn’t played since April 17th, and was thrown in with 5 minutes remaining in Game 1 of the Finals.
Nerves would be higher than ever.

Smith was only an accomplice. Conklin made the error, and admitted it himself.
Held on to it too long, then spazzed.
