first of all if you make fun of Eddie at least make it understandable, not jibberish. Secondly i agree with TMK at the bottom of the post. Who does he have infront of him? Berg, Khavanov, Klee? come on now. These guys are bush league. You could dress 4 pylons in leafs jerseys and they could do just as good and may be even better. You could even go further and put a “shooter tutor” in the pipes and the leafs defence would still find a way to screw up and lose. Dont blame Eddie. Sure he isnt playing the best. But the defence have more to do with it then anything else. Long live the Leafs

People really underestimate Eddie Belfour. His numbers aren't good, and he's been a bit inconsistant -- but look at the team he's got in front of him. It's, by far, the worst Canadian team in the league.

Eddie doesn't have a single good defensive pairing in front of him (Mccabe is good at putting pucks in the net, not keeping them out. Kaberle is a second-pairing guy on a team that doesn't suck).

I wouldn't mind Eddie Belfour, he's got the experiance and talent level to upgrade Edmonton's current situation.

That being said, I'd much prefer Curtis Joseph.

Holy crapt! I can't understant what Kevin Lowe find of good in the 40 years old goalie of the Maple Leaf... He's at the end of his carrer and he does nothing good this year... Add to that is exhuberant salary and it make it a guy to retire. Anyway, Cujo is the guy that Edmonton need!

With Cujo, Edmonton will be the Calgary Flames of 2004 like it was say on this site. But this year, the Oilers will beat the Flames in the Western Conference Final!

Oilers fan for the life (except if Belfour comes to Edmonton!)

why on earth would a team that wants to make the playoffs take a goalie from a crappy team who is 10 years past his prime?

if the oilers are smart, they will pass on this and go for a real goalie like Biron or even Raycroft.

Gosh knows i loved the eagle when he was soaring high in the early ninties with the hawks under keenan, less when in dallas but lets be honest. He has cost this team critical games by stupid decisions to hack and slash that result in penalties or drunk wanderings passing the puck to the opposite team. That has nothing to do with TO. defense when he personally giftwraps a puck to a forward streaking in off the boards. That could cost edmonton big this stage of the game. Its not the age (lets be honest, goaltenders stay in one place and hasek is in his 40s), its his inabilities to co ordinate himself in his surroundings. Edmonton would be better to look elsewhere, even europe before bringing in belfour.

Belfour is the worst goalie we could get. First, he has been playing like Theodore, and we would have to pay him 4.5 million next year. Although he would be an upgrade over what we have, it wouldn’t be much. Second, there’s something called a salary cap. Although the salary cap is projected $46 million, the Oilers have a budget of about 38 million. Last, oiler fans (like me) hate Eddie because of all the years he stoned us in the playoffs. One of my early hockey memories is screaming at the top of my lungs booing him. As you guessed… i don’t want belfour here.
