  1. tharock098 says:

Wow, Imagine if we get Tverdovski and Marchment, they are no where near Hatcher type (which we know we werent gonna get) but they will patch up the holes of the leafs D.

  2. titans says:

Federov a Ducky huh?? Hmmm I saw Sergei goin to a more “high profile” team like New York, Philly or even L.A. but hey why not. I don’t know how much he could really help the Ducks though with all their losses.

As for Tverdovsky, if he can recapture the magic he had in Anaheim he could be a steal at under 3 million.

  3. wingerxx says:

Fedorov is the more complete player, but I would take Kariya over him anyday. I still can’t believe the Ducks reportedly didn’t even make an offer. At least Kariya shows up to play every night. But hey, Anaheim needs a star now.

de Vries would make a nice fit in Tampa. We shall see if that happens.

And Kozlov would look pretty darn good next to Yashin. If Milbury got him, it would not only be smart, it would be about time.

    Tverdovsky…in Toronto?…blah. Get Wesley.

  4. VACCAAD185 says:

Trevordosky….or whatever…the leafs could have aquired Kariya for two million dollars less for one year if Quinn just looked into it a bit and didnt go with his stupid prospect plan…

And Fedorov a duck…..be prepared for many losing seasons for the next 4 years FEDOROV!

  5. Flyers_01 says:

Didn’t make an offer to Kariya? What is your source? Everything I’ve read says that the Ducks offered BOTH KARIYA AND SELANNE more money than the Avalanche. The Ducks thought that Selanne and Kariya would both be on their team this year. I guess Kariya showed them eh?

  6. WeStSiDe says:

TVERDOVSKY IS NOT WHAT WE NEED!

  7. wingerxx says:

I was referring to an ESPN.com article a few days ago. So I’m wrong, big whoop. Doesn’t really matter. Kariya said he was disappointed that he couldn’t go back to the Ducks. I highly doubt that his intention was to leave all along. Ducks management clearly gave him a push out. Point being, I’d rather have Kariya than Fedorov.

  8. Sane04 says:

Look stop with this Kariya shit. Kariya wants to play with Selanne. Their agents called Pierre Lecroix all right? In order to get Kariya, you must sign Selanne. In total, it would be 7 million. Faggot.

  9. Howie9 says:

Tverdovsky is talented YES, but he better be real good offensively because his defensive abilities are more of a liability. Belfour better be training really hard in this offseason if this is the help he is to expect.

  10. big_booty says:

TSN is still reporting that Federov is seeking $10-12 million per season. Ducks ownership saw no reason to pay that much to one player, which is why they didn’t give a qualifying offer to Kariya. There is no reason to think that Federov would take less to go to a question mark of a team.

As for Tverdovsky, I don’t expect him to get signed any time soon. Leafs management has their collective heads up their ass and their hands tied with the Robert Svehla situation. Besides, there’s a reason Jersey is letting him go – he’s not all that good anymore. Pat Burns and Lou Liamorello know this, evidently the Leafs don’t.

P.S. – Thanks for the no look. We don’t need it.

  11. VACCAAD185 says:

Enough off these European Defensmen like Tverdovsky! T.O. needs a rugged defensmen that is a good leader, can hit, and protect the crease that our veteran goalie Eddie Belfour stays in. Like the above comment, Belfour has to train well unless we have a big, talented defensmen…and one to fill the holes. Cmon Quinn take a while to think…

  12. Pokecheck89 says:

-And Newsday, reports the New York Islanders working on the phone with the agent of Slava Kozlov.

Erm, on Spectorshockey.net, it reports that Newday’s Alan Haln says that unrestricted free agents like Ray Whitney and Slava Kozlov may be too expensive for the NY Islanders to take on.

Tver-whatshisname? well i’ve been hearing all these rumours about him, De Vris, Wesley, Marchment, Klee, I just want the Leafs to sign one of em already

    Go Leafs Go

  13. Hockeyman93 says:

Tverdovsky is way overrated. He hasn’t been an impact player in two years. Hell, the Devils benched almost the entire cup finals. The leafs dont need the poor man’s Ozolinsh, they need Wesley and de Vries.

  14. Tradedude says:

if only brendan witt were was available

  15. Tradedude says:

faggot? lol, i remember when they used that word in grade 3.

  16. canucklehead says:

Hey Expert. Why didn’t the Leafs sign Hatcher? From reading the crap you post out of the Toronto Star (Canada’s National Inquirer) I felt that he was a lock for sure. I thought that that was the only place he wanted to play (to go home)?

Why would you want to sign Tverdovsky? Aren’t your leafs supposed to be trying to get better than the Devils? Why sign a guy who couldn’t even crack their playoff roster.

The Leafs sure do look pathetic for the upcoming year, better hope that Eddie Belfour pulls another miracle out of his ass, or it’s gonna be a long season in Hogtown.

To all leaf fans who belived ‘Expert’ (and I use that term lightly) & doubted me: Go Blow Leafs!

  17. leaf_expert1 says:

And who have the canucks sign?

  18. leaf_expert1 says:

Thats it I’ve had enough, i’ve been a leaf fan my whole life but this plain sucks. I was just listening to the FAN 590 and there was a comment that stated that the Toronto Teachers Pension get most of the money, by needing spending on big name free agents. I’m telling you right now go for another team that is commited to winning.

P.S. Who do you think the leafs new GM will be?

  19. sluggo says:

Several teams, like the Rangers, have expressed interest in Kaberle. The Leafs could be after Tverdovsky to free up Kaberle for a trade.

  20. canucklehead says:

The Canucks have not signed anyone, just like I (the real expert on this site) predicted. They will not sign anyone. They will lose Klatt & Baron to free Agency and still be a better hockey team than your geritol sucking Leafs.

Oh, and who have the Leafs signed? Weren’t they supposed to be signing Leetch, Hatcher, De Vreis & Marchment. Or was it Fedorov, Kariya, Selanne & Cassels. Help me out I can’t remember which load of Bullshit was written by you.

  21. canucklehead says:

How are Marchment & Tverdovsky going to patch up anything.

For Marchment – Its awfully tough to play D from the penalty box (Toronto already has enough goons, why get more. Do they want to play the whole game every game shorthanded?)

For Tverdovsky – He couldn’t even make the line-up in the playoffs for New Jersey. How is he gonna patch up the Toronto D?

I guess, as far as Toronto & Defencemen are concerned, any warm body would be better than what they have now.

  22. silva21 says:

    replace kaberle with tverdovsky?

    smooth one man

I frankly think leafs are done as a team and there is no time like present to rebuild. Your not gonna win the cup with a European Captain, European Goalie (God knows the Leafs aren’t winning the cup this year, so on comes Telquivst), or a dumb@$$ of a coach like Quinn.

You can sign all the free agents you want but NY just keeps on proving that it doesn’t really help you.

REBUILD with a solid a couple of Canadian prospects, after all, they are what win you the cup.

Yeah! Rebuild with xenophobia! It’s a winner!

  25. -momo- says:

For anyone who knows anything about anything at all, The Sun is the tabloid of the nation.

Just last week they were reporting that Oprah was on a new diet, planning on getting into shape for training camp. Apparently she is going to be the next big D-Man (quite literally, I assure you) for the leafs. And I’d take her over Aki Berg any day of the week.

    SCTP: It’s what’s for dinner

  26. leaf_expert1 says:

FIRST OF ALL IM A NEW JOINER!!!!!!!!! im leaf_expert1 not leaf_expert and i never thought the leafs would sign hatcher!!!!!!!!! The canucks have one good line and then they suck!!!!!!!!!!

But they have a smarter GM than T.O.

  27. Donovan says:

I’m about to give up on those shit-head Leafs. Any suggestions as to who I should root for now? A team with a competant GM would be a nice change.

  28. WildWing89 says:

I Posted That Fedorov Could Go To Anaheim On The wowhockey.com Boards And They Thought I Was Crazy. Now There’s Reports That They’re Close To Signing. All I’ll Say If It Happens, Is, I Told You So. After Losing Kariya And Selanne, And With Oates An FA, They Have 13 Million To Spend. If They Do Get Sergei For 8 Mil, It’ll Be Another Amazing Thing Like The Avs Getting Kariya For 1.2 Mil As Feds Wanted 10-12 Mil. He’s Worth The 8 Mil, And I Think Bryan Murray Would Think So Too. That Then Leaves Abot 5 Mil To Spend On FAs And Raises To Guys Like Giguere. If Kjellberg Left That Makes It 6 Mil. With That Much, They Can Definetely Rebuild Their Team To Better Than Before, And Possibly Resign Oates. If They Got Both Federov And Oates, They Could Then Bump Feds To LW And Lines Could Look Like This-

    Fedorov-Oates-Sykora

    Niedermayer-Rucchin-Leclerc

    Thomas-Pahlsson-Chistov

    Chouinard-Krog-Holmqvist

    Havelid-Carney

    Ozolinsh-Sauer

    Salei-Vishnevski

    Giguere

    Gerber

Then, The Ducks Would Prove Most Wrong In Doing Good Without Kariya.

  29. TC_4 says:

Yeah, Federov in Anahiem makes sense. They’ll have about 9 mil a year to spend on him, with Karyia and Oates gone. I say 9 mil, because I suspect they don’t want to blow it ALL on Federov, even though he enjoys that kind of thing. As for Tverdovsky, someone needs to take a crack at this guy, I wish Edmonton would do it. With a team like Edmonton, Toronto, or Detroit, this guy would be fabulous. He was terrible for New Jersey’s system, just like Scott Neidermayer is. Oleg could post 60 point seasons with a team that would let him free wheel, and if he was more involved offensivly, maybe he would get more interested in the game defensivly.

  30. Rampage_Winger says:

Way To Capitalize Every Word. I’m Not Sure I’ve Had A More Difficult Time Reading Anything In My Life.

  31. Freeze says:

“There is no reason to think that Federov would take less to go to a question mark of a team.”

Fedorov WILL take less to leave Detroit. His main interest is fast cars and fast women and So. Cal will offer that. Detroit’s a blue collar, lunch box town. It’s not glamourous. The weather sucks. Who cares about the Cup when you already have 3 rings? He will only get around $8 million per year over 4 or 5 years, which should be plenty to lure Anna’s clones in. Hockey will become just a hobby to Fedorov. I feel sorry for Brian Murray and Mike Babcock. Maybe their first question to Sergei should be, “Why do you want to come to Anaheim?”

  32. jon95616 says:

Chouinard wasnt offered a new contract he became a UFA…Smirnov, Severson or maybe still Bylsma will get his 4th line ice time.

If Federov signs i dont think they will try to keep Oates and Thomas…you forgot about Andy McDonald coming back…that fills another top 9 forward spot…

then Joffrey Lupul or Holmqvist in the other open top 9 spot…

    Chistov-Federov-Sykora

    Niedermayer-Rucchin-Leclerc

    Lupul(or Holmqvist)-McDonald-Pahlsson

    Severson-Krog-Smirnov

    (Bylsma)

    same d-pairings and goalies.

  33. jon95616 says:

i think all thats true but i also think he wants to be “the man”…the main gun for a team instead of being in the shadows of Yzerman, etc…so hopefully he has something to proove and gets 100 points next season for a team who could use the help now (Anaheim).

  34. jon95616 says:

he wanted LA i think, Anaheim became second choice when LA didnt want to pay him.

what losses are you talking about with the Ducks…Kariya and his 81 pts leave…Federov and his 83 points come in….sounds pretty good to me…

  35. jon95616 says:

Ducks are going to stick to the same defensive system and be a pretty good team for the next 4 or 5 years with Giggy in net…im not saying they will win cups like federov was getting in detroit…but the ducks arent Nashville either…

Federov wont be losing as much as u think…sorry.

  36. calflyers says:

to quote a famous lie / Queef_Novice post

    “Marchment Wants Leafs”

    He signed with Columbus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    shows how much you know

the people who allow you to be posted are MORONS

“you give a monkey a gun, you don’t blame the monkey if he shoots someone”

  37. Cyrax89 says:

You just made your self look like an idiot.

Marchment wants to be a leaf not Marchant. Marchant signed with the Jackets.

    Shows how much you know.

  38. calflyers says:

    woops

    i had a LOOOOONG nite

he STILL won’t sign w/ Torontblow

  39. Cyrax89 says:

I don’t know why anyone would want him anyways.

  40. JeffBurnz09 says:

I wouldnt want Federov to go to Anaheim, because I like him and don’t like them, but I can see it happening. Anaheim has some money to spend now that they dumped Kariya. Plus, I heard Federov was interested in LA because he like California and all. LA won’t pay him, Anaheim might.

  41. canucklehead says:

Why On God’s green earth would you name yourself after that loser! (It probably is you anyways)
