Especially in the east where it is supposudly way more phisical than the west plays.

Yes Gagne Esche and Johnsson for a combined 10-million…given the fact most of the starting goalies on the market want 5 million, and considering Esche IS one of the top American goalies 3 million is a good estimate. WIth Johnsson for 3 million, if you look at all the other signings it makes sense, Aucoin and Foote for about 4 million each and Berard for 2…for a solid young offensive defenseman, who for the fast two years has been their bets defenseman, it’s reasonable. And Gagne, he didn’t play at 4 million form last year, but if you consider his potential and former totals, especially along Forsberg, he could probably get 4 million from another team if they tried. Finally, Radivojevic for 1.5….it makes sense Martin Lapointe signed for more, but has smaller totals and less of an upside, and isn’t that young either, so 1.5 is pretty reasonable, it’s what Knuble is making and abit more the Stevenson.

    You are totally deranged.

Peter Forsberg is, hands-down, the best hockey player in the world when healthy. Any team that has an opportunity to snare him if he becomes available should do so without hesitation.

Do you honestly think that Forsberg would sign an incentive-laden contract? Hell no. He and his agent are too smart for that.

I love JR, but I’d take Foppa over him any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Even Roenick knows that the Flyers are better by making these moves.

To say that Bob Clarke “made a giant mistake” is, quite simply, stupid.

Of course, if Forsberg signs the same deal with Toronto, Ferguson is a genius, right?

I believe Therien signed a one year deal worth $850,000, but I might have mis-read the article.

That makes a great reason to move him if it’s true.

There was also some talk that he’s a bit of a Barney Gumble off-ice.

The Flyers current roster cost is 30.18 million, not counting the traded Roenick or Timander, who is playing in Europe. This leaves 8.82 million to sign Esche, Gagne, Johnsson, Branko Radivojevic, Dennis Seidenberg, and Patrick Sharp. My guess: Esche, Gagne and Johnsson for about $2 million each, the rest a bit under a million. A tight squeeze, but manageable. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, to see Clarke try to dump Desjardins or Brashear like he did Roenick.

All the front runners will probably be around City Hall, between Market and Spruce.

But I’ll tell ya this – us hardcore fans will be at Broad and Washington. That intersection will be partyin’ like it’s 1999.
