The Canucks are pushed right up against the cap. I honestly doubt that Luongo will be traded before the deadline. I agree that Arnott would be a better fir I just do not think that he will come for the same price.

trademan i think gomez is done and the canucks won’t waste money on that stiff! they’ll trade luongo and get a way better player(s) than gomez in the trade

The Leafs need some speed and a sturdy d-man. They should target Jason Blake and Jeff Finger.

Maybe. Honestly, I think they’d be better off going with Arnott. I know he’s older, but he’s actually been a lot more productive than Gomez over the course of the last two years and he was a good role player for the Blues last year.

Arnott is not a 2nd line centre at this stage in his career, but could be a decent bandaid move. But, for the right price Gomez could fill in temporarily just as well I guess.

I think that the Canucks should take a shot at Gomez. He could fill in until Kesler is back.
