I think the whole world knows that Wang is out of town on vacation and has left explicit instructions not to do anything til he gets back. This is why the Isles still have not signed DiPietro.

Hence any imminent deal with the Isles would have to be the product of someone's imagination.

Kozlov is a large, somewhat skilled center who would add much needed size up the middle. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure he played with Kovalev and enjoyed a lot of success playing together.

Like you said though, he is getting old, he is a little lazy and his production has dropped. Additionally, Ribeiro or another center would have to be dropped from the roster. At this point, despite my constant frustration with Ribeiro, I can't see happening. Gainey gave Ribeiro a raise, something which hurts his trade value more then it helps. In reality, I don't see how dropping Ribeiro, who has youth and potential, for Kozlov would be a significant upgrade...which is exactly why I don't see Kozlov happening, but it too crossed my mind.

As much as Ribeiro likes to carry the puck, his greatest asset (maybe his only one) is that he can feed the puck to his wingers pretty effectively. This is not to say that I've been made frustrated by him on countless occasions, but he can find the open man. Additionally, Carbo said this was the line he had in mind.

Higgins had a great end of the season on the wing, and I don't see him being moved back into center...i think they want him to develop as a scoring winger. Plekanec showed a fair bit of promise, and we also have a number of center's in the depth chart.

Also, Ribeiro cannot play a checking line role!! He doesn't have any of the necessary skills: grit, energy, speed, or size. He really is only usefull on a scoring line,so to suggest he'd be on the 4th line is kinda crazy. If Ribeiro were traded, then maybe, but I really don't see him being dumped right after being given a raise. Gainey must have saw something in Ribeiro, and I don't think Higgins can jump into fill the 2nd line center role after playing an entire season on the wing. Maybe Plekanec or Johnson, but even then...
