how many consistent 20 goal scorers spend more than 5 years with a team.

Lecavalier has a no trade clause as the starof a winning team. i'm going to say no.

But where is your Cup if you've been that good? I know you made the finals right after we won our last Cup, but after that?

Btw, if you were a tad informed on the Habs' situation, you would know their good prospects have been picked since they became decent 3-4 years ago (Savard & Gainey). Réjean Houle has been really consistent destroying the franchise prior to that.

If a team wants souray and Bonk, they'll sign them in the offseason.

Nobody will absorb kovalev's, or koivu's massive contracts if you don't take salary back.

Well us Canuck's fans don't get a chance to talk about there prospect's, because were actually winning now, and we have some good prospect's. Also Montreal has good prospect's because they've been no more an average team ever since Roy left.

Not to mention the fact that the Habs' starting and backup goalies would be Halak and Danis, they would need two AHL centres, two AHL dmen, and an AHL winger. We'd be lucky to win another game all year.

The problem would be finding teams willing or able to absorb that much salary AND give up a high end pick/prospect. It's just not possible.

I agree this was the year to do it. With teams paying a high price to pick up rentals,i think Bob should of move some of his core players. we are at best right now always fighting for a playoff spot and being close to the cap. I know i'm not the gm, but this is what i would of try'ed to do.

    trade   Souray   for 2 first round draft choices and maybe a prospect
              Rivet got 1st and a prosect Souray should get that.

             Now if he leaves we get nothing. GM's should always take the sure thing.Bob can always try to sign him in the off season.

     trade   Koivu    2 first round draft choices and a prospect

     trade Kovl       1 first round draft choice and a prospect

     trade Bonk       2 round draft pick if possible

                            is playing well but could also leave for nothing at the  end of year.

        I know lots of trades are hard to pull off, but i think this was the year Bob could of change the direction of this team.

       case in point       Rivet       saving     2.500.000
                                Koivu      saving     4.750.000
                                Kovl        saving     4.500.000
                                Bonk       saving     2.300.000
                                Abby       saving      1.900.000
                                Niinimaa   saving     2.500.000
                                               saving   18.450.000

          This gives you alot of money for free agents and a lot of draft choices for the next 2 years. It also lets you change some of the core players on your team. I know it sounds to easy. But i think this was the year to change it up a little.

I think the fact they get more noticed everywhere around the League is related with them having lower trade value, but I still agree with you.
