"...cut your losses" ??? Steen had a so-so sophomore season, and you think they should get rid of him? I'll give you another example now, probably more accurate and relevant to this situation: Steve Sullivan. Here was a promising young guy that they gave up on and he turned into a really good player, I think Steen (22 years old right now) could turn into this calibre player.

I've never heard of anyone cutting their losses with a 22 year old, former first round pick, who's playing really well, just because he only put up 31 points in his sophomore season. Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Give your head a shake.

THis is exactly the problem with the leafs. Steen got 45 pts his rookie year, whopidy-doo. WHat has he accomplished since then? Jack shite. You need to know when to cut your losses and stop looking at what he did 2 yrs ago. Trent hunter and Andrew Raycroft are perfect examples.

I don't think Maple Leafs management is all that concerned about playoff performance-you can't choke in the playoffs if you don't make them.

Just curious-do you honestly think that there is a team in the league that would want any of the Leafs-D? Most general managers in the league most likely have access to a TV and ars able to watch the Leaf pylons on a game by game basis. Maybe if JFJ gets fired then re-hired somewhere else, then MLSE might find someone willing to pay these defencemen to skate around otherwise I'm afraid you're all screwed!!!
