No! What i wanna see is the KKK , see after this season Montreal need to let go of Bonk , Niinima , Souray , Aebischer , Jonhson , Samsonov = $12 MILLION DOLLARS....... And then with cap going up a few bucks and the little bit we have left from this season for a grand total of about $15.5 million. We need to invest that cash wisely on players like Kariya , Timonen ,Briere , Drury or Markov from Detroit. These are the only players worth signing next season , IMO i would do anything to sign Kariya and Markov and let some of the young guns do the rest , so let's take a look at what it would look like.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bonk and Johnson back next year. Bonk obviously at a lower price, don't know what Johnson makes though. They haven't been stars, but they've played their roles well.

Just to clarify, Begin is not on Koivu's line...Streit is

Current lines are:
Streit - Koivu - Ryder
Higgins - Plekanec - Kostitsyn
Begin - Bonk - Johnson
Latendresse - Lapierre - Kovalev

...well, at least that was the lines of this nights win. An important note is that Koivu, Kovalev, and (I think) Higgins are on the first power play unit, so you do get an opportunity to see that line work there. I believe Kostitsyn, Pleks, and Ryder are on the 2nd.

Also, Latendresse ice time has been severely cut, and Niinimaa barely played in the 3rd.

I really don't see them changing from here. Having Begin with Bonk and Johnson makes a better defensive line then when it has Latendresse, and in the playoffs that shutdown line will be needed more then ever. With the chemistry between Pleks, Higgins, and Kostitsyn, they aren't gonna be changed. Koivu creates, as he always does, some great opportunities for Ryder and Streit adds some sizes and grit to that line...although, it is a little lacking on offensive prowress for a 1st line. Kovalev makes that 4th line a threat, you have two big bodies and they can create a lot of room.

The only change I potentially see is Streit being bumped down to the 4th so that Kovalev can play a regular shift with Koivu, but I think Carbo likes the defensive conscious that Streit adds to Koivu and Ryder.

I think Perezhogin will not be with the hab next season…Im sure he will be part of a trade like a bait…The guy not bad…but is scared to go in the corner..and its not something Carbo really like…

i very much like your idea of playing the younger guys. my guess is that samsonov, bonk and johnson will not return so the top eight forwards for next year will be higgins, plekanec, kostisyn, koivu, ryder, latendresse, kovalev and perezhogin. hopefully the young guys will get meaningful ice time.

i'd be much happier with a mediocre team of rookies who may get better than a mediocre team of veterans on the decline.

i think they need begin on the koivu line, since koivu and ryder are menaces to the team at full strength. begin gives them a little bit of defense and physical play. look how putting avery on a scoring line has helped the rangers.

The only thing I don't like is that Begin is on the Koivu line. It's ok for a shift or 2, but not a whole game. I'd bring up Grabovski or Milroy and put either with Saku and Ryder. Kovalev is finally playing with some passion with the 2 kids, leave him there.

stupid idea. The team is playing is best hockey since 3 month and seems unbeatable everynight it's not the time to change anything kovy is doing fine with tender and lapierre
