That’s pretty whacky. The Blues trading Giroux for Backes? That would be crazy but this kind of thing doesn’t really happen in the NHL. Heatley for Hossa because Heatley needed to get out of Ottawa, you know things like that do come up from time to time but you’ll never see a big deal like this go down.

What if both teams did something like this :

St. Louis Blues trade : D Shattenkirk, C Backes, & a 1st in ’14, or a 2nd in ’13, & maybe even D Cole
( one, or the other . Not both )

For

Philadelphia Flyers trade : C Giroux, D Colbourne, & C/W Briere

I don’t know what else needs to be added but, it’s something just to get the conversation started . If, anybody has any suggestions, please post them !

There’s no way he will. It would have to be Coutourier+ going the other way. Shattenkirk has been their best Dman this year, he’s not getting traded.

If Armstrong makes this trade he needs a kick right in the fricking balls, horrible trade it would be. He is a 24 yr old dman who has had back to back 40+ point season and is well on his way to a third. Outside of that he is 11 yrs younger & Shattenkirk can actually grow facial hair!!!!lol
