Key Players to watch/forget in the second half

Well, I’m due for an article so I decided to post one on players to watch or forget in the second half of the season.
Goalies-

*Watch out for*

1. Olaf Kolzig, Washington Capitals: The guy cant play this bad all year can he?

2. Evgeni Nabokov, San Jose Sharks: The Sharks need to pull it together with all those “all-stars” (I still think they stuffed the ballots), and Evgeni is the key.

3. Jamie Storr, Los Angeles Kings: He seems to be stealing time from incumbent starter Felix Potvin, and the Los Angeles Kings have a great hockey team. Its no fluke they beat the wings and took the avs to 7.

*Forget ‘em*

1. Brian Boucher, Philadelphia Flyers: Roman Cechmanek is the man in Philly these days, and Brian has been, well, under par since returning from injury.

2. Tommy Salo, Edmonton Oilers: The Oil’s are slipping and sliding all the way down in the Northwest. They have quit scoring and Salo is suffering.

3. Mike Richter, New York Rangers: What happened to the Rangers from the start of the year? Lindros is playing like a wimp, Fluery is still battling himself and has no self control, and the defense has fallen apart.

Defenceman-

*Watch*

1. Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit Red Wings: Still in the middle of the pack and needs to break out to get another Norris.

2. Dan McGillis, Philadelphia Flyers: If the Flyers can keep this pace up, McGillis may show signs of life,….. maybe.

*Forget*

1. Brian Leetch, New York Rangers: *see mike richter

2. Sandis Ozolinsh, Florida Panthers: Even a stay in the sunshine state won’t pick up his scoring. Enjoy your golf in April.

Forwards

*Watch*

1. Markus Naslund, RW, Vancouver Canucks: Teamwork + Wins =POINTS!!

2. Pavel Bure, RW, Florida Panthers: The guy has to win the Rocket Richard trophy right? Right?!?

3. Zigmund Palffy, LW, Los Angeles Kings: If the guy can get healthy, he will be the key to the Kings winning their division.

*Forget*

1. Anson Carter, C, Edmonton Oilers: I wonder if point regression is possible?

2. Jason Arnott, C, Patrik Elias, LW, Petr Sykora, RW/C, New Jersey Devils: This line has played horrible all year, and Arnott was almost shipped to San Jose. Could Elias be moved with arbitration looming in the offseason, and him being bound to get the largest payoff in arbitration history?

3. Sergei Fedorov, C/D Detroit Red Wings: hey, Wings head coach Scotty Bowman has him in defense, what else is there to say?

This article has more of a fantasy hockey look, but applies to real life as well.
