Agreed. The deal obviously has a level of risk in it for LA considering the length of contract (expires 2022) but at least they know him and Richards have chemistry and the annual cap hit isnt that much for a annual 30-40 goal scorer if he rebounds.Loosing Johnson hurts to an extent but young playoff teams dont generally need their 1st round picks. And maybe LA replaces Johnson in the off-season with Ryan Suter or something along those lines. Pretty ez sell to alot of guys to come live in Los Angeles and play for a playoff caliber team. Ive visited once..they call it the city of angels for a reason

You can mitigate that problem by calling up a 2nd back up goalie. He probably won't outscore Gomez…probably.

Columbus won the deal from the perspective that Carter is not playing well this year with the Jackets, LA definitely won the deal IMO, they give up very little for a (up to this year) consistent 30 goal scorer.

Subban needs to stop being a little *****, he fought with another teammate recently. I don't mind 2 guys spontaneously getting mad and showing emotion but Subban is just pissing people off and causing conflict and tension that doesn't need to be there. It is a shame, I like his game and want to like him but he is was too much of a, well, little *****. lol

I don't think anyone still believes that Gomez can pull anything off. It's just our GM and many fans don't want to pull the trigger on sending the guy down to rot in Hamilton because "then FA's will never come to Montreal"… well I don't want anyone in Montreal who'd get all pouty lipped over Gomez getting demoted. ***** him, ***** the Goat, ***** those who think that and ***** any UFA who'd be afraid of suffering the same fate as Gomez. Subban has accomplished more in Montreal than Gomez has. Subban has upside where Gomez has no use but to go to Hamilton.

Everyone is saying that Colombus won the deal… But my guess is that Carter will rejuvenate his career in LA and will get back to his 30+ goal scorer form.Cant really blame the guy for being p!ssed off!! Signs a long term deal to STAY in Phily, only to be traded before the deal even kicks in. Then the fact that hes traded to a shitty small town expansion team that is now obviously in LAST place. The ONLY upside is to play with Rick Nash…and that experiment failed… Doesnt get much worse than that..
