Connolly would be a nice pick up for the Islanders.

They actually traded him with Taylor Pyatt, who was also a high pick for Mike Peca. Same offseason they grabbed Osgood and Yashin and skyrocketed in the standings.

2002 was the year, we beat the Islanders in the first round that year. I’m pretty sure Adrian Aucoin scored over 20 that season as well, and Steve Webb was their goon.

When he first started out, he was extremely physical and would hit everything that moved and hard. Problem is his game has been going south the past 5 years and he never had any offensive game. Certainly not worth the money.

Having said that, I don’t think he was bad the few games he played this year and is somewhat a victim of a numbers game.

Ya totally agree, I think Komisarek will just be bought out at the end of the season. I could see Connolly to the NYI for a 5th or 6th round pick. Connolly was actually drafted 5th overall by the NYI and is from New York, so I could see him going there, if the Islanders are interested.

I would totally do it. Komisarek is the biggest piece of shit to ever dawn the Blue and White. I hate Brian Burke for ever signing him. Never learned his lesson from Bobby Clarke, who out of the lockout put a ton of stock/cap space into Hatcher and Rathje, ultimately the Flyers finished in last in the NHL that season.

The era of big slow, tough dmen being top end guys was the clutch and grab era, it ended with the 2005 lockout.

Also Komisarek was never good for Montreal. Anyone who thinks he was didn’t watch him play and was swayed by media hype. He’s a piece of shit.

MacArthur is actually kind of expensive for what he brings. He has a lot of skill but he’s too small. He actually makes $3.5 million.

I like him, he’s fine as a 3rd line winger but honestly:

Kessel, JVR, Lupul, Kulemin, Komarov, Frattin, MacArthur, and the goons, we’re pretty deep on wing and Macarthur is the smallest of the group. This is why I believe he’s always on the outs of all the arm chair GM’s future plans. I have no problem keeping him but he’d have to take a pay cut.
