There is also the possibility that they deal that first rd pick off to CBJ for Nash…either way i don’t see Edmonton dealing the 1st pick.

I agree, ideally we could try to get him as a free agent, but there could be a bidding war. I wouldn’t wanna move the 35th pick in the draft, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to move something for his rights and get the inside track

Why would Toronto want to grab Yakupov when we have Kessel? Championships are built around having only 1 guy who can snipe, not two or 3. Besides we need a C, just because theres a unique situation this year in which the best player in the draft could be made available, and we have so many needs its hard to count, why should we try to acquire anything except a centre? I just don’t get it.

Lupul was obviously an oversight when I was playing around for fun.
The trades are not that far off what could happen actually happen per trade, not all would happen as I stated. I could explain the logic behind why, but I really can’t be bothered. Some of you guys took it waaay too serious.lol
It’s a way better team than what we have especially with Lupul in the mix.

Why give up a 2nd though? He’s clearly already picked the team he wishes to sign with. It could be Toronto in which case why waste assets when we could get him for free? If it isn’t Toronto then why give up assets for nothing?

Here’s a realistic trade: 2nd rd pick for Justin schultz. Burke helps Anaheim recoup their 2nd rd pick that isn’t going to sign there and burke gets a real solid dmen that is supposed to be good enough to jump right into the nhl, which is hard to find with 2nd rd picks. Leafs sign him to a entry level deal with bonuses, similar to what bozak got in his first year.

Mostly agree. While getting a first-line center would be nice who is available. It’s not like teams are lining up to give them away. Maybe Jordan Staal could be had but it’s hard to say if it’s only a rumor. After him it’s pretty much Statsny or bust.

Why on earth do we need to trade up to Number 1 and get Yakupov? I mean we have Kessel as of right now do we really need to sink more assets into another scoring winger? Can we please for once just get a center to finally replace Sundin and maybe look at finding stable goaltending?
