Honestly its "Hockey Rumors." people are making it out like he was tweeting about Iran aiming missiles at the United States. The way I see we have just seen that the job of Bob Mackenzie, Darren Dregger, Pierre MacGuire, etc could be done (And done effectively) by a 17 year old kid.

I will still follow him gives me something to read when the day seems to slow down.

scchenn could be added and take out gunnarson but thats the kind of package it is going to take to get our number 1 center weather it be from the ducks or Stall from the canes i doubt they move him though its just what i think the leafs need they need that big centerman that can take some pressure off kessel and get him open to score more goals

i would try to snag brown and benier from LA before nash what the leafs really need is a number 1 center like a Getzalf

so maybe something like

To Ducks : Kadri, MacArthur Gunnarson 1st or 2nd round pick

To Leafs : Ryan Getzlaf

it might be an overpayment but there are going to have to over pay to get what they need

I don't really care if he has "real insiders" or if he simply finds info quickly and compiles it and sends it out. I will give him credit, he routinely reports info before TSN, sportsnet, etc. So he still serves a purpose.

I don't believe what he reports to be complete BS, I think he gets his information and sums it up, and sends it out, and its reasonably reliable and consistently fairly accurate.

I think Wolski would have been the best option. He's got size and skill and would come cheap. I would think Boyce has more value than Mike Vernace. So a 3rd for Wolski isn't that much. This move to me means the Rangers are closing in on Nash or someone else. It looks like we might have to settle for Penner.

I agree, Wolski and Smithson to Florida for next to nothing. Burke hasn't done anything except lose a decent 4th line energy player

It's actually a pretty good group.

My hope is that Burke acquires 3 or 4 pieces at the deadline:

1.A big forward - guy who can make some kind of impact. High end would be a JVR or Nash, low end would be a Ryan Malone or Steve Ott type.

2.Another FWD - any capacity, even a role player. Always a good idea in case of injuries and to gear up for a playoff run. You need a little insurance. Sami Pahlsson comes to mind, Mike Knuble (although the Caps and Leafs making a swap is a little crazy given their respective positions in the standings, still its not unheard of for two teams beside eachother to make a deadline trade.)

3. A veteran goalie - Nabby, Khabby, Rolly, Giggy etc. Anyone who can add another option in goal. We need the insurance in goal.

4. A veteran d-man** - only as a rental, only if the price is right, and only if we move a d-man or two off our roster in a separate trade. We have a good, young D core, but let's face it, they've been flat lately, we could use the stability and the boost.
