Here's a thought why don't you throw another season and get a top pick. That way you can have a top 5 picked player at every position..

calgary is looking for a n.1 center...mtl will have big trouble on their blueline at the end of the season so :
to calgary : kovy + prospect
to mtl : regehr+kobasew or lombardi
also we have to involve picks being sent to calgary
yes its a little more money on calgary's cap but we could use a guy to dump salary like a 3rd liner or 4th liner involved in the trade and for next season there's no problem cuz i think its over for amonte and friesen over there...so u have more cap space...
think for calgary a 1st line of tanguay-kovy-iginla is pretty dangerous and mtl could trade a guy like souray for a forward to replace kovy...2nd centerman!

k, thanx for copying my speculation of the threeway deal between ottawa, calgary, and vancouver. Vancouver doesn't need help on defense? Are you high?
They are in dire need of a strong 2nd or 3rd defenseman. btw for the three way flyer, san jose, phoenix trade i have twwo words for you "salary cap"

As stated above, this trade would be a totally one-sided traded that only favors the Canucks. In addition, the Canucks already have 43.583 million against the cap, giving them just above 400,000 of wiggle room, not nearly enough to absorb the extra 800,000 this trade would give them.

Holmgren's not going to pull the trigger - he's gonna wait for a full time GM to be named and shove this on him.

Forsberg's not going anywhere, except maybe at the deadline for a rental (a la Doug Weight).
