The only reason not to want Luongo is the contract, not his game.

Some people seem to have this odd misconception that Luongo is a good goalie.... Forget about the numbers, watch this stiff play, he's trash. Use your eyes and judgement and watch him play don't just look at his "name".

as long as we are not giving up our 1st or any of our big NHL players (Lupul, Kessel, Schenn, etc) then I'm happy with any cost. Luongo is a great goalie, definitely top 10 and has the ability to get a team to the Stanley Cup final.

I'm really anxious to see if/when luongo gets traded.. What the other team gives up for him for value wise everyone really has no idea! Some say we're gonna have to sell the farm for him (van fans mostly ) ranging from people saying leads would only take him if van gives us a first and prospect for him. Personally he's a very good goalie and depending on whether he wants out and the list of teams he gives depends on how valuable he is. If we can unload one contract and give them a second and third id be happy or even if van oppts for our first round pick and takes two of our overpaid players I would do it. I'm curious to see what happens

Wouldn't want him on a 5 year deal. Wouldn't want him on a 4 year deal. Wouldn't want him on a 3 year deal.

Because I'm desperate to see some playoff hockey I wouldn't mind rolling the dice if he's bought out, and we could sign him on a 2 year deal worth around $3.5 million.

I really think, stats aside, he's a bad goalie. He's as good as Crawford, or Jimmy Howard, or Jonas Gustavsson. He can make big saves and if his team plays well enough in front of him he'll get the win, occasionally he'll even win a game for his team. But once in a while he also loses the game for his team and he lacks the extra gear to elevate his game in the clutch.

A goalie we should be talking about is Anti Niemi. He's a much better goalie, and a much more reasonable contract. And we know the Shark's are looking to make some significant changes.

People seem to have this odd misconception that Luongo is a bad goalie. He is a top goalie in the league; make no mistake about that.

The Leafs on the other hand, have no one. Gonna bet on Reimer and Gustovsson again? Luongo on the Leafs would most likely mean the playoffs, and depending on his supporting cast, maybe a few rounds in the playoffs. Goaltending sunk this team this year.

If he can be had for less than that, of course I would do that. I would not be willing to go much more than the deal I proposed however.

lol yeah because they are the problem, not people who think Luongo has negative value with his 6 straight winning seasons and GAAs ranging from 2.11 to 2.57 during that time (average of 2.35).

I understand his contract sucks but it will only really suck for the last 4 years of his deal which the way he structured it, it is highly likely he will just retire and release us of that obligation. If Luongo had a 5 year deal worth 5.333M per then people would be talking about trading their top ten pick or a large package for him (or at least they should).

Also anyone who thought we should of have signed Richards to the same deal the Rangers did should not be complaining about Luongo's contract (not saying you did, just making a point.... the 2 deals are exactly the same).

A 2nd and 3rd for Luongo. F uck off with this shit! Leafs fans are starting to piss me off!

If I'm Burke, I'm demanding at least a 1st round pick and a prospect or solid roster player to take on a shitty goalie and that big contract. I'd deal for Luongo or Dipietro if I could pick up some assets, then I'd buy him out. Other than that, not interested.

I think we could move Steckel, I mean other then face offs he doesn't bring much to the table. Put Gaustad on the 4th line, sign Stoll, get Brown on the 4th line and sign Thornton/Moen.
