Nice article on TSN about Orr trying to reivent himself as a player with the help of Eakins. He is hoping a trimmed down Orr has got his mojo back. He was once a relied upon PK’er for the Rangers, and we could use his toughness.

Ya Komisarek will probably be bought out. But who the hell knows? Seems like a Carlyle guy if he can find his game.

And I guess if Liles is hurt again this year he could be a candidate, but that’s really it. I wish we could just pay off our previous buyout debts in Tucker and Armstrong and take those off the cap instead.

Well Blaze, a lot of people thought the Bruins were crazy for trading Joe Thornton for Wayne Primeau, Brad Stuart, and Marco Sturm. But it enabled them to sign Chara. Result? Stanley Cup. Just saying, Dion is replaceable in other ways like cap space and we can get young assets for him. Unfortuanately that’s where we’re at right now.

Ya Komi, might be ok, He said at the seasons end meeting Carlyle told him he would prefer him to be in the 230lb range, i believe he was near 245-250 before. That alone could make him a better in terms of performance via increased stamina. An already slow player slowing quickly is not good.

i think the window is really small for them. Its not fair but i am thinking this organization now wants immediate results.

It wouldn’t shock me if Nonis only got 48 games and the search is really on for a new GM/hockey boss.

Liles is a big buyout target. If he doesnt rebound he could be bought out. If he does rebound he’d likely be traded in the offseason anyways or next trade deadline to make room for Reilly.

Maybe but I’d never see them approving say a Luongo buyout for 30 mil if he shits the bed.

And I wouldn’t want to buyout Komo right now anyways. I thought he played well for Carlyle so far. He gets the half season then maybe bought out if needed.

Ya I don’t really know what to make of all of this, i am confused to say the least. I like a lot of what he did, not everything. I think there is somestuff that could have been done if he wasn’t there. That being said the way the new CBA is set up to “punish” circumvention contracts, it may not be a bad thing we didn’t do some? I think Nonis is a good GM, just quieter then Burke was. i wonder though if this had been done sooner if we could’ve held on to Dudley? There are still a lot of good hockey people here, hopefully we some sorta change. LOL, like playing for 60mins would be a good start.

well thats what i mean. no reason to buy out a Connolly or Lombardi cause they are UFAs. but in the summer, there is still that option for komi as he has a year left and Liles who signed a long term deal.

i am not so sure Burke’s guys will last long….this includes the guy who took over as GM.
