How can any of you think that Lowe would trade the #1 draft pick to the Leafs and Brian Burke, Wow!

I hate to tell you guys this but your not getting the 1st or 2nd overall pick, period. What it would take the Leafs to aquire the 2nd overall pick from columbus, you would need at least Kessell, forget about Kadri, he isn't worth anything(yet). It would hurt the Leafs more than it would help them, as for the 1st overall pick, Lowe would trade it for Samsonov before he trades it to Burke.

As for Nash, the Leafs aint getting him either, they have enough wingers, what they need is a #1 center.

What make more sense would be.

Liles, 2nd rounder in 2012, 2nd rounder in 2013 for the Islanders 1st rounder in 2012

Nothing! Except….we've been talking about Nash Parise Statsny, etc. Connolly is a stop gap at 1st C. Lombardi would have to go. I didn't mention Kadri. Kadri is a pure talent. But he plays like a prima donna. On a PP he broke his stick and slowly skated to the bench with his arms in the air like it wasn't his fault, (while the PP was still in play). Another time he was stomped on…play leaves the zone…he's crying to the ref slowly leaving the zone while the guys are ready to come back in. He plays for himself. Buddy, (Kadri), it ain't about you…hustle out of the zone already!!!! He was something to watch and hard to watch at the same time. He is definitley trade bait.

Frattin, Bozak, D'Amigo could make a good third-line.

I think Bozak is good two-way, can throw his body around, and can win faceoffs.

What's wrong with that?

We caught the Marlies game yesterday afternoon. Great game…,one thing became really obvious. We could have a serious third line in Frattin Bozak D'Amigo. If Mac, Grabovski, Kulemin can regain their form…that just leaves a C for Kessel Lupul. This Leaf team didn't look so bad after we left the Ricoh.

We'll have to see if they allow to send players to the minors without cap penalty again next year.

If they do allow for it I suspect Lombardi has played his way off the team and Connolly would be an easy target to play for the Marlies, but only if we've brought in someone more expensive and we absolutely need the room. Still, those two guys free up $8.25 in space.

If they don't allow for sending players to the minors without cap penalty in the new CBA they're a suggestion that they could allow for every team to have a 1-off buyout that won't go against the cap. Komisarek is an easy target because he has multiple years on his deal. (Now to get crazy, I say in this scenario we flip Komi to the NYI for their buyout player, Dipietro and take on way more money, and the Islanders will compensate us in another way for eating that extra $15-20 mil in the buyout.)

I don't see Kevin Lowe and Brian Burke doing any type of trade in the foreseeable future. I'm assuming they still hate each other over the Dustin Penner deal.

Just outta curiosity how can the Leafs make this deal happen with less than 7 million in cap space left and signing a goalie as a top priority?

I don't think it's Nash and Parise...

I'm thinking Nash and Suter.

Suter would be a great compliment to Phaneuf because his mobility as a defencemen would allow Phaneuf to roam more.
