  1. Gretzkin says:

Proud of you for doing so, I apologize. Just messing.

I’ve spent some time in Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks, I used to have a HouseBoat there.

    Much success with hot ladies.

And though the Blues have been shite, they’re not awful, and something worth waiting for.

  2. Gretzkin says:

    You bet I would…

  3. Gretzkin says:

You have to know one thing Officer, I actually like the Leafs.

It’s just so damn frustrating what they do, but I want YOU to know that I actually wish success on them, but lets keep that between the two of us.

  4. Gretzkin says:

    lol, perhaps.

    you’re funny.

  5. Gretzkin says:

    I like this guy

  6. Gretzkin says:

If you can get Officer 92-93, Jannetty the Rocker and THE AMAZING GRETZKIN going, then you’ve hit pay dirt, which you’ve done my good man.

  7. Gretzkin says:

Blah dee fuc*king blah, you are clearly a total idiot.

Up against the wall dumb arse.

  8. Marky2Fresh says:

They had the same amount of wins

  9. Gretzkin says:

This is actually the worst argument that laughs, laughs, laughs has ever put up, usually he can fight his own battles, this time he is a total dipstick with nothing to say.

Reminecant of Jack Nicholson at the end of “Cuckoo’s Nest”

Duh, duh, duh, I’m leafs, leafs, leafs… poop in my pants, poop on my hand, thristy and feeling weird…

  10. tancred says:

No need to apologize. No worries. 🙂

It is pretty down by the Lake of the Ozarks. Sounds nice to have had a houseboat down there.

And just because there’s been a lot of talk about Pronger, including on this thread (potential trades with the Leafs and all), I think it is interesting to look back at what the Blues got for him. Brewer was injured for much of last year. So, I think if he can stay healthy next, then maybe it will be a better way of judging his worth. I really liked what I saw of Woywikta (sp?). He wasn’t like wow offensively or anything. But I was amazed with his ability to remain calm when things started getting crazy in the Blues’ defensive zone. And there was plenty of that last year! He just never seemed to get fazed. And umm…Lynch, I think was the other guy. Saw him in a preseason game, but that was about it.

I think McCabe’s no-trade/no-movemet clause is the most worrying part of his new contract. With that, I’m not sure the Leafs should make a move to acquire Pronger, as it will most likely mean them having to deal Kaberle. Kaberle’s much better than McCabe, imo.

I wonder if the Blues would want to reacquire Pronger? Not sure they’d have much that would interest the Oilers, but its possible I suppose.

  11. tancred says:

What did Bill Guerin say about hating Edmonton? I’m just curious, as I hadn’t heard. That guy says a lot of odd things. During the lock out, didn’t he say he’d rather see the NHL destroyed/cease to exist if a there was a salary cap in the next collective bargaining agreement? Weird!

  12. EasternHockey says:

Why the hell are you apologizing for? That idiot just called Kaberle and McCabe the best defensive pair in the NHL. That truly deserves criticism.

  13. Aetherial says:

There is no, ZERO, NONE, evidence to suggest that Jovo > McCabe. Sorry, but “opinion” doesn’t count.

Go look up there performace for the last 3 years.

  14. samcal17 says:

Yeah Redden has been fantastic. Unless of course you consider the playoffs important.

  15. samcal17 says:

Thats a fantastic well thought out come back. Good for you moron

  16. woodsco85 says:

The Leafs Have Sold Out Ever Game Since 1964, Name Another Team Whos Done That.

  17. LeafsLeafsLeafs says:

rewind the tape, gretzkin started this crap and you carried it on so what does that make both of you?

  18. LeafsLeafsLeafs says:

this coming from an ingrate that probably shouldn’t even have a computer, god only knows what other types of indecent activity you do with this thing.

Back to the point I was making before tweedle dumb and tweedle dipshit carried this thread off on a tangent, McCabe will post a great season next year and help get the Leafs back into the playoffs and then I will be looking for the main post to this retardedly long expedition you have taken us on and repost it for you to wallow in all your shame. I thought you were a decent guy gretzkin guess I was completely wrong.

  19. LeafsLeafsLeafs says:

Domi for Roberts you heard it here first.

  20. 92-93 says:

    well yeah, hopefully…….

    nah, probably not.

  21. bleedingblu says:

Are you kdding?? Redden, Jovo, and Chara are all worth 6.5 to 7.5 imil

  22. 92-93 says:

    but gretzkin …

    EVERYONE CAN READ THIS!!!

(sorry, i think i yelled that).

  23. bleedingblu says:

I agree! Everyone thinks they’re a gm around here. I agree McCabe was overpaid but no one could say he sucks after coming off a solid season. No one could say it was a fluke because no on has any way of knowing that. For everyone’s information, Sundin and Kaberle insisted he stay. Who knows whats better for the team? The players? Or the fans?

Kaberle and McCabe make a good combo and they both racked up the points last year.

Why try to fix something that isn’t broke.

  24. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

cute now please prove how that qualifys me as an idiot.

and btw reread this article u idiot

TSN is reporting that McCabe has quit toying around with the Leafs and has accepted the 5.7 million per year for 5 years offer

  25. gurpi13 says:

a lot of u r talkin as if mcCabe sucks ass, but really, he is just gettin paid too much, he should get really around 4 mil maybe…

  26. Viller02 says:

McCabe and Pronger pairing would be amazing offence wise, best powerplay unit thats for sure. And unlike Kaberle, Pronger would be able to get McCabe out of trouble alot more….

But I doubt they ar gonna want that contract after giving McCabe 5.75mill a year.

  27. Viller02 says:

He doesn’t suck ass offence wise thats for sure, just look at his point totals. Problem is, hes a reliability on defence but of course, that contract might be reason enough for him to concentrate more on his defence play over the next years…

  28. DJTOKid says:

Everyone that slandered or bad mouthed McCabe and his wife should be ashamed of them selves. I just watched an interview with McCabe at his home, and he told everyone the real deal. That his wife had a recent surgery because she was using a walker for three months after there child was born. He said he didn’t feel the time was right to deal with the contract and I totally don’t blame him.

So everybody that said what you did about his and his family, will probly owe the lord some good deeds to make up for tht one.

  29. ccrashh says:

Let’s see how well he does next season. You really think he’s going to do better than last season? Or even the same? I doubt it. I really do. He will now have a huge off-ice distraction in the form of his allegedly disgruntled wife.

  30. UWSensFan says:

My opinion is that McCabe would make a stellar winger, but his defensive abilities are very limited. He deserves to be in the NHL, but he’s just playing the wrong position, that’s all.

  31. ccrashh says:

Um…not to bash your Oilers, but do you really think they will even make the playoffs next year? Really? I mean, just because they came within a game of the Stanley Cup this year guarantees nothing….look at Tampa (albeit there was a year layoff in there).

  32. vindictiveb says:

Qoute>>>>.cute now please prove how that qualifys me as an idiot

You are a little raper ***** hahahahahahhahahaha

  33. Guinsfan87 says:

At least he could get to the playoffs….

  34. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

Quote is how it is spelled not Qoute.

what exactly is a little Raper ***** please explain?

point is you are an idiot

  35. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

……. my dad has been alive since 1959 he says there has been the odd game the leafs have not sold out.

  39. Mainer87 says:

100% agree with you Scruffy. JFJ is one of the worst GMs in the league. He talks out his ass most of the time whether it be on how “GREAT” Mccabe is which is so far from the truth or how Raycroft is a “PROVEN” goalie. Mccabe is a one trick pony who can score on the powerplay and Raycroft plays one good year and is suddenly proven? He should not have won the Calder, it was clear that Ryder is far better. When Raycroft had pressure in the playoff series against the habs he folded faster than Superman on laundry day. The Leafs are the Knicks of Hockey and as a Habs fan I hope they keep it up so I can laugh at them for years to come. Forty Years and Counting…….HAHAHAHA

  41. habsoverserver says:

Sad how everyone rips the guy and no one apologizes.

  42. 92-93 says:

re – my post from a few days ago on this thread:

“again, why is everyone so certain that McCabe is TOYING AROUND WITH THE LEAFS.

is everyone really that stupid to assume that the personal issues go beyond his wife and to his family more generally?

i mean, no one here knows the details yet … why make such negative assumptions and make yourselves look like insensitive idiots a few weeks down the line.”

  43. 92-93 says:

there’s not a lot of class and accountability it seems in online hockey forums like this one or even in the media – which is really sad.

look at Fidlin’s article (toronto sun) from today – aboslute nonsense, mentions the possibility of a personal issue in one sentence than a few sentences later describes McCabe as ‘toying’ with the leafs.

    no class.

look at gretzkin’s spreading rumors about Pronger and his infidelities and wishes plane crashes to befall the pronger family.

    no class.

i have not come to expect much from people on this site.

  44. LeafsLeafsLeafs says:

I think alot of it is the media’s fault for having put out articles that stated Bryan McCabe’s wife wanted out of town, and people were just responding to the info that was given to them. I don’t think its the fans that owe the apology, I think its the media that does for having jumped the gun and gave fans inappropriate fuel to spout off on.

I know I for one was making comments about his wife and how she should not be able to tell him where to play, but that was based purely on the fact that a story was published I read it and responded to it here on HTR. It was also a story that was in the Sun, Star, Spectorshockey.org, thefourthperiod.com, etc, etc…

My point is everyone was reporting the same non sense as if it was factual, so how is a fan supposed to react when they do not have the full story? Anyway I will appologize to Bryan and his wife, and hopefully she is doing much much better, I never intended to kick while down, it was merely a response to an article that was written and posted as fact.

My appologies to the McCabe family, get well Roberta. Congratulations on the new contract and all the best to you and your family in the future.

Here is how I think the Leafs lineup should look next season:

    Roberts-Sundin-Samsonov

    Lindros-Wellwood-Williams

    Tucker-Stajan-Steen

    Kilger-Pohl-Ponikarovsky

EX Belak, O’Neill (Suglobov, Ondrus, Newbury, Kulemin)

    McCabe-Kaberle

    Spacek-McKee

    Colaiacovo-White

EX Harrison, Pilar (Kronwall, Bell, Wozniewski)

    Raycroft

    Aubin

    (Racine)

    Trade: Domi, Antropov, Tellqvist, Belfour

Sign: McKee, Spacek, Samsonov (OR Elias, Carter)

  47. 92-93 says:

no question its the media’s fault.

but both fans and media alike cannot simply leave their accountability and responsibilities at the door when it comes to sports or entertainment issues.

we should be held accountable for what we say and do. if you fall into the penalty box into domi’s lap, you pay the price. if you make untrue allegations and remarks, you should be held accountable – apologies are in order.

and good on you for recognizing that.

i think in toronto, it happens too often and too much and we cant simply dismiss it as ‘typical toronto media behaviour …’ so what? there are no excuses.
