He didn’t just miraculously appear that high. He was labelled as a potential top 3 pick because of what he did as a 16 year old, putting up 85 points. At points last year, there was speculation he could actually challenge Yakupov for the top pick. Then he got injured.

You can’t really judge his xero points in 2 games this season as anything. He missed an entire season. It’s hard to do much with that.

He’s been a can’t miss prospect since last season. This injury just put a little mystery into how good he can be.

I’m totally cool with Grigorenko (and by cool I mean the guy is a beast) but Galchenyuk did more at a younger age than Grigs did this season. That should tell you something about how good he is (now granted Grigs didn’t have Yakupov but I digress).

I’m surprised LA hasn’t been mentioned, a bit tight against the cap…But no doubt Parise would look great with Kopitar and Brown.

To Timmy –

Fitness is a huge aspect no question, and there is a lot of merit to what you’re saying, but you learn way more in the actual games. Which is why I still think Grigorenko could be the best C in this draft, and who knows, Forsberg might flip to C and become the best C in the draft. I bet some scouts feel strongly one way, and other scouts feel strongly another way.

We really don’t know. In all probability, Gally probably will go 2nd or 3rd, but there is the possibility of him slipping to 4 or 5. Just throwing that out there. No one though Cam Fowler would slip past the top 5 his year and I think he dropped to like 11 or 12 to the Ducks. So you never know.

I’m pretty sure all the hype is off of his combine performance… Apparently his knee has healed fantastically and is a non issue now according to many trainers… Also he was one of the more physically impressive in his combine events he participated in…
