The Captain of the Montreal Canadiens has cancer.

What is happening with Saku is a tragedy. He is only 26, and fighting the biggest battle of his life.

What ever happens next is in the hands of God. Would he be strong enough to overcome this sickness. I like to say yes. Lance Arsmstrong is the perfect example. After, overcoming a cancer, and almost loosing his life, he came back to win the Tour de France 3 times. Wow!

I invite hockey fans, like or dislike the Habs, to do a little prayer for Saku, and hope he gets back his health.

As for the situation on the ice, Savard obviously is not thinking about that at the moment, but soon he will.

Does that mean that it is emminent that a keeper and a defensman should be traded in the intention of getting a power forward ???

Yashin Cashes IN

The Islanders will announce that they have signed Yashin to a 10 year $90-91 million deal.

This deal makes it the richest contract package in the NHL’s history.

He wont be the highest paid player per year but the sum of $90 is the highest ever in the league. The 27-year-old center had 218 goals and 273 assists in 504 regular-season games with Ottawa over his career.

Theo Fleury Is Cleared

The NHL and the NHLPA announced that Theo Fleury is cleared to play with the New York Rangers for this up-coming season. Good job Fleury for getting through a tough moment and I wish him good luck for the 2001-2002 season.
