it isnt nonis's fault both the players turned out to be shit signings, its the player's fault. both chouinard and bulis had career years then slumped since coming here, they would both be regarded as good signings had they played like in their prior season. nonis cant help it if they dont perform, only they can.

IDIOT!!!!!!!!!! nonis worst gm for trading for luongo? lfmao, now because we have someone who's not a sieve in nets i dont have to worry myself shitless every time the nucks go into the third with a lead. anyone who thinks he is the worst gm in the league should look towards peter chiarelli and JFJ, trading away 1st rounders in a time of rebuilding and signing 30 year old and up d men to 4-5 year deals with no trade clauses.

I think that Nonis made some mistakes this off season but trading for Luongo was not one of them. The Canucks have had some good teams over the past five years or so but the key ingredient that was missing was a show stopping goaltender. Luongo is among the top five goalies in the league, and will continue to get better as he is tested in more difficult situations in a much more competitive environment in Vancouver.
The only really bad move that I think Nonis should be held accountable for is signing Willie Mitchell for so much money. I know that Nonis had to offer that sort of money to lure Mitchell away from Dallas or Minnesota, but Nonis could have gone out and gotten a different defensive defenceman for at least one million a year less. Carter ended up signing for only $2.5 million. If Vancouver had an extra million in savings from Mitchell they could have made a competitive offer to Carter.
Jan Bulis has not worked out as expected, but for $1.3 million he was not a bad gamble. He did score 20 goals last year without playing much on the powerplay, or getting a whole lot of minutes on the third line. One would have expected that if you put Bulis on a quality line with quality playing time he could have been a 30 goal player.
Hindsight is 20/20. I give Nonis credit for making some major changes to a team that had missed the playoffs, and more importantly, a team that hadn't gone anywhere in the playoffs with the same core group of players in place for several years.
The season is long from over. If players like Bulis, Morrison, and Naslund play up to their potential the Canucks should do just fine.

I cant agree with you more, i find that with each passing day the holes and leaks in the canucks orginization keep showing up. mostly around dave nonis, frankly i think hes an idiot a complete idiot. Like many canucks fans on this website i used to love watching them, of course being a die hard fan i still end up watching thier game, but of course im saying things like "fuc k , why couldnt i have been born in edmonton or calgary so i can watch a good team!" forgive me canucks fans for saying that! now the other problem i have with nonis is also said in the above writing, why is he not pulling the trigger! and why is he siging so many players that are underachievers, all i know is we need to do something and do something bad or else im not gonna be the only one hating to watch the canucks
