You're rating Ohlund higher than Salo? Ohlund's +/- does not indicate he is strong in his own end. He can be effective offensively if he has a good stay-at-homer like Mitchell playing with him. Overall the 'Nucks have a pretty solid D...it's after you get past the 1st two offensive lines where the trouble starts.

Morrison and Naslund are in their early and mid-30's respectively. I'd hardly cal that washed up. Both players are held to the standards of the points they produced while playing with scumbag Bertuzzi. All three of those guys had career years together because of the chemistry of that line. Morrison and Naslund are producing about where they were before the days of that line so I don't think you can attribute the decline of production to being "washed up".

Brandon Reid is also usually a call-up.

As for Forsberg... I'd like to see him as a Canuck. He could re-energize Naslund(who I think will bounce back this year). And yeah, even if he is injured for a good part of the season, save him for the play-offs, and Vancouver might even make the Conference finals. I think he wants to return to one of his old teams, but Nashville doesn't want to add much salary(though that could change now that that local group looks like they're going to purchase the team), Colorado doesn't want to mess up chemistry, and Philadelphia doesn't have the cap room. He and Naslund are friends, and are together right now for the Icebreakers fund-raiser. Maybe Nazzy could be some persuading. Hey...if he can get Forsberg in the bath with him.....getting him to sign with Vancouver should be a snap.

If not, I think Naslund should be re-united with the Sedins. Yeah they were useless together last year, but that was mostly Naslund, and he was useless almost everywhere. Try it out, if he does bounce back, then you have a great top line, in the regular season anyway(Can you really blame the Sedins for not scoring in the play-offs? No one on either team scored in the first round, and in the 2nd round, they were up against Niedermeyer, Pronger and Giguere and the Cup-champion Ducks.

I don't see any teams making desperation trades of helpful 1st or 2nd liners... Which is what the Canucks need.. I tend to disagree with most people on here about Forsberg.. Yeah he is gonna get injured ... and will probably only play 1/3 to half the regular season games... But the Canucks are going to be in the playoffs, which is where a warrior like Forsberg can make a huge difference..

At least that is how I look at it.. Get him now, pay him a couple million plus major incentives, and you dont have to give up the farm for him at the deadline..
